Fantasy Football Week 1 Injury Reports: Info On Donovan McNabb and More
The time has finally come. Your fantasy season begins in just a few short hours.
But will your star play? Or is he nursing an injury?
Many fantasy owners are relying on Donovan McNabb, Knowshon Moreno, and Beanie Wells this season, but will they start their season opener?
Here are some last minute injury updates on the biggest names in the NFL and fantasy to help you make your final roster decisions for week 1.
10. Michael Bush: OUT
1 of 10
Bush is listed as questionable against the Titans with a broken thumb.
Bush participated in practice Friday and caught and carried the ball well but Tom Cable says Bush is a game-time decision based on how his thumb responds.
Darren McFadden will see an increased roll with Bush nursing the thumb injury, but neither is a wise start since it is unsure how much either will get the ball.
******UPDATE********
THE RAIDERS HAVE LISTED BUSH AS INACTIVE.
9. Dexter McCluster: Doubtful
2 of 10
McCluster is a popular choice as a sleeper this season.
However, McCluster is doubtful to see action Monday against San Diego.
He missed practice Friday with an illness, and is not showing signs of recovering well enough to play.
While many were saving McCluster for later in the season, he is definitely not a starting option now.
8. Owen Daniels: OUT
3 of 10
Daniels is recovering from a torn ACL last season.
He is expected to start for the Texans against Indianapolis.
However, his snaps may be limited as Houston tries to fully evaluate his knee's health.
While Daniels was a pleasant surprise for many owners pre-injury, he is a start-at-your-own-risk this weekend.
******UPDATE********
THE TEXANS HAVE LISTED DANIELS AS INACTIVE.
7. Michael Jenkins: Out
4 of 10
The Falcons' No. 2 WR will miss the season opener after missing all of the preseason with a shoulder injury.
It is unsure how much longer Jenkins will be out, but Brian Finneran will see an increased workload in his absence.
6. Julian Edelman and Laurence Maroney: OUT
5 of 10
Both of these Patriots are questionable heading into the match up with the Bengals.
Edelman was expected to see an increased role this season with Welker's knee issues, but a foot injury has hampered him and leaves him a possible no-go.
Maroney's thigh issue is still problematic and will limit him in week 1. While many have steered away from Maroney the last couple seasons, he is definitely not worth the risk this week.
******UPDATE********
THE PATRIOTS HAVE LISTED BOTH EDELMAN AND MARONEY AS INACTIVE.
5. Fred Jackson: Probable
6 of 10
While the Bills continue to struggle, they have three rather talented running backs up there in Buffalo.
Rookie C.J. Spiller has been named the starter for week 1 while Jackson continues to nurse an injured hand.
Jackson will see some action but his role will be limited, as will Marshawn Lynch's.
4. Larry Fitzgerald: Probable
7 of 10
The Cardinals' star has been hampered by a sore knee but should play Sunday.
He is concerned with his lack of reps with Derek Anderson having missed time in the preseason, but as Arizona's no.1 threat, he is still a must start.
3. Beanie Wells: Questionable
8 of 10
Wells is sure to see a great deal of touches this season, but is a must sit here in week 1.
His nagging knee injury has him listed as questionable, but Tim Hightower will start and Wells will be limited, if getting any carries against the Rams.
2. Knowshon Moreno: Probable
9 of 10
Moreno missed time in the preseason with an injured hamstring, but is expected to play and start for Denver against Jacksonville.
He has looked impressive in winning the Broncos' starting job, and should be effective this season. However, start with caution this week as his touches may be limited.
1. Donovan McNabb: Questionable
10 of 10
While McNabb is listed as questionable, he insists he'll start against Dallas.
The Redskins have placed all of their hopes on McNabb's shoulders this season, and a season opener against a bitter division rival seems like a certain start despite a sprained ankle.
While he is playing, his effectiveness is questionable, and you may want to sit him if you have a viable second option.
However, it is not a terrible decision to start McNabb this week.
