NHL Today (9/10): Kaberle, Zubrus, Guerin, Cogliano, Meech, Ryan, and More

John TaboneSep 10, 2010

Tomas Kaberle

Various sources are reporting that defenseman Tomas Kaberle might just end up re-signing with the Toronto Maple Leafs next season. I guess talks between Wilson and Kaberle must have went well. More on this soon.

Dainius Zubrus

It seems that Zubrus is the one most likely to get the boot from the New Jersey Devils. Reports claim that the Devils would like to move him and he could either be traded, waived, or loaned to a European team.

Bill Guerin

As you may already know, Bill Guerin has been skating with the Philadelphia Flyers. However, there were rumors that he would not accept a tryout with the team. Things are looking different now, as the Flyers, who have $877,000 in cap space, will most probably try to fit Guerin into the lineup.

If he doesn't ink a deal with the Flyers, Guerin might look to another team in the Atlantic Division, particularly the New Jersey Devils, a rumored destination for the veteran winger.

Andrew Cogliano

Things aren't looking good for Andrew Cogliano. It is becoming clear that the Edmonton Oilers do not value him as much as Sam Gagner, or even Gilbert Brule ($1.85 million cap hit). He will have to sign for a smaller figure than those of Gagner and Brule if he'd like to stay on the Oilers. The best option for Cogliano is to re-sign with the Oilers, play his heart out, and prove himself to the Oilers or another NHL team.

Derek Meech

Red Wings defenseman Derek Meech just cleared waivers and will start the season in Grand Rapids. The Red Wings continue to look for a suitor for Meech.

Bobby Ryan

The young winger could re-sign with the Ducks soon. How soon? Possibly tonight. Possibly the middle of next week. Sources are saying that talks have gone well and that Ryan will remain a Duck for now.

Stay tuned for more updates coming soon!
