Fed Up with Brett Favre

I’m just wondering if anyone else is as fed up with this whole Brett Favre fiasco as I am. 

I used to think he was a great guy. I mean, he’s still a good guy; it's just this latest series of events has dramatically lowered my opinion of him. I thought that when he retired after the end of last season, it would be the last we would see of him on a football field.

Maybe he would come back as a commentator for football games, or maybe just go have fun in backyard football games like he does in his jeans' commercial. I thought he’d probably miss the game; maybe consider coming back, but in the end stay retired.

Even though his last pass was an interception, I thought he came out on top, almost taking his team to the Super Bowl. His remarkable career would overshadow his last pass, and Green Bay would enter the era of Aaron Rodgers. 

I’m also wondering how he’s going to top his retirement speech when he retires…again. Will we experience déjà vu with more tears and words from the heart or will it be quick and to the point?

Seriously, after watching that speech, how could anyone not love this guy? That was one of the most heartfelt retirement speeches I’ve ever seen. He was the sports star everyone wanted to be growing up. Money didn’t matter, just as long as he played the game. He played for the love of the game, and the football world loved him for it (except when he played/beat your team). 

Now, all that is lost…for me anyway. I’m sick of hearing about Brett Favre. I thought there was no way he would be returning to the NFL. When I turn on ESPN and see more about Brett Favre, I change the channel.

By midway through the season, my prediction is that he’ll remember why he retired in the first place and retire again at the end of the season. But who knows, maybe he’ll be another Michael Jordan and end up winning a couple championships for the Jets. It’s quite a long shot, but so were the Giants beating the Patriots. I’d like to see him prove me wrong, and see if all this was really worth it.

It’s really too bad that Green Bay and the Jets don’t play during the regular season. I really like to see who'd Green Bay fans cheer for more. Needless to say, it’s definitely going to be an interesting football season. 

Alright, well that’s all I have to say about that, let’s just see what happens.
