2010 WEEK 2 AGAINST THE SPREAD COLLEGE FOOTBALL PICKSWell, one week is in the books this NCAAF season, and it was an unusual true to form Week 1 lacking in any major upsets in games involving two FBS schools. A couple of FCS schools did shock the world though, as Jacksonville State won at Mississippi and North Dakota State beat Kansas. Let’s move on to the CFB Week 2 matchups.

South Carolina (-3) over Georgia: It looks like the ol’ ball coach has an offense this year, after Steve Spurrier’s South Carolina squad thumped Southern Miss 41-13. The Gamecocks always play good defense, so if the balanced attack they displayed last week wasn’t a mirage, this team will win a lot of games this year. Georgia is starting a redshirt freshman at quarterback in Aaron Murray, and this will be his first experience on the road.

Notre Dame (-4) over Michigan: Michigan looked great last week while beating Connecticut but remember that Denard Robinson was virtually the entire offense, accounting for 383 yards combined on the ground and through the air. Football betting odds are that Notre Dame was taking notes, and remember that the Irish defense limited Purdue to just one touchdown. Look for Notre Dame to hone in on Robinson here and see if Michigan has any other gamebreakers on its roster.

Syracuse (+13.5) over Washington: The Orange were the only Big East team to win vs. an FBS opponent on opening week, and they were very impressive in doing so accumulating 431 total yards while allowing just 166 yards in a 29-3 road win at Akron. They are capable of another nice offensive performance here vs. a Washington defense that allowed 408 yards to BYU. This looks like too many points considering Syracuse has a fair chance of winning straight up.

NC State (+3.5) over Central Florida: NC State surprised many experts by averaging over 30 points per game last season, and they picked up right where they left off in their opener as quarterback Russell Wilson passed for 306 yards and four touchdowns in a 48-7 win over Western Carolina. The Wolfpack are moving up in class this week, but they are a proven commodity with so many players returning on offense, and with Wilson at the helm, the Pack can score from anywhere on the field.

Rice (+2.5) over North Texas: Rice actually played mighty Texas closer than a lot of people expected last week, and remember that the 2-10 record the Owls had last season was mainly due to injuries. Do not forget that Rice went to a bowl game two years ago before a disastrous 2009. North Texas may be improved, but they still have too many holes on defense to be favored over a non-Sun Belt Conference team in this CFB Week 2 matchup.
