EURO 2012 Qualification Review After First Week

First week of qualifications for Euro 2012 is behind us.

I am bringing you a big review of all qualification matches that have been played for now.

There have been a lot of surprises but it is only beginning.

A lot of big teams dissapointed us and some small teams did amazing job.

Here is the review of EURO Qualification matches for week one.

Group A

September 3th  2010

Kazahstan vs Turkey   0-3

Belgium vs Germany  0-1

September 7th 2010

Turkey vs Belgium 3-2

Austria vs Kazahstan 2-0

Germany vs Azerbaijan 6-1

Germany started just like they expected.They will definitely win this group.

Turkey also got two wins although against Belgium was pretty hard match.

Austria will battle with Turkey for second place.

Armenia vs Ireland  0-1

Andorra vs Russia 0-2

Slovakia vs Macedonia 1-0

September 7th 2010

Russia vs Slovakia 0-1

Macedonia vs Armenia 2-2

Ireland vs Andorra 3-1

The biggest surprise is Russian lost on their field against Slovakia.

Ireland and Slovakia got maximum points from the first week.

Russia definitely need to win next matches or they can say goodbye to Euro.

Faroe Islands vs Serbia 0-3

Estonia vs Italy 1-2

Slovenia vs Northern Ireland 0-1

September 7th 2010

Serbia vs Slovenia 1-1

Italy vs Faroe Islands 5-0

Italy easily won their two matches and began their reconstruction under coach Prandelli.

Serbia failed to get maximum points as they tied against Slovenia at home.

The biggest surprise is Slovenia loosing against Northern Ireland at home 0-1.

The biggest surprise happened in this group as Belarus beat France in the middle of Pariz.

Also surprise is to see Romania having only 2 points from first two matches.

Very good start for Albania and Belarus. Both of them have 4 points in the start.

Greece vs Georgia 1-1

Georgia vs Israel 0-0

Malta vs Latvia 0-2

Croatia failed to win maximum points after a miserable draw against Greece at home.

The biggest surprise is coming from Greece as they tied against Georgia.

Switzerland vs England 1-3

England started with two great wins.

The biggest surprise is definitely two wins by Montenegro who is coached by Croatian football legend, Zlatko Kranjcar.

First I have to say that Portugal is the biggest disappointment  for now in Euro qualifiers. They only got 1 point in two matches. Terrible for big football nation like Portugal.
