2010-2011 NFL Predictions: Let's Get the Party Started, Week One

Zac JonesSep 9, 2010

Year after year growing up, I always seemed to have a knack for predicting winners of games. Didn't matter what sport, I could do it for all of them.

So last year, I finally manned up and put it to the test for the 2009-10 NFL season. My final pick percentage was 86 percent. Not too shabby, if you ask me. So with all the hype surrounding tonight's kickoff game, I thought I'd put my neck on the line and share my predictions with you.

Minnesota Vikings at New Orleans Saints

TOP NEWS

Colts Jaguars Football
Rams Seahawks Football
Mississippi Football

Winner: Vikings
Why? AP is too much for the Saints defense to handle.

Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills

Winner: Dolphins
Why? Because it's the Bills.

Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears

Winner: Lions
Why? Jay Cutler and the weak Bears offensive line can't cope with the Lions' new and improved front four.

Oakland Raiders at Tennessee Titans

Winner: Raiders

Why? Other than Chris Johnson, the Titans got nothing.

Cincinnati Bengals at New England Patriots

Winner: Patriots
Why? The Pats with home field advantage are a tough team to stop.

Carolina Panthers at New York Giants

Winner: Giants
Why? Panthers lost a step in the offseason, and don't have a real answer behind center.

Atlanta Falcons at Pittsburgh Steelers

Winner: Falcons
Why? I'm predicting a big come back year for the "Dirty Birds."

Cleveland Browns at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Winner: Browns
Why? Someone has to win, right?

Denver Broncos at Jacksonville Jaguars

Winner: Jaguars

Why? Denver's defense took a big hit, and won't be able to handle MJD.

Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans

Winner: Colts
Why? The Texans are the Colts' baby brothers. No way they win this game.

San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks

Winner: 49ers
Why? The Niners look good this year, and Seattle is still a year or two away.

Green Bay Packers at Philadelphia Eagles

Winner: Packers
Why? I'm liking the tune of a 14-2 record this year for the Pack crew.

Arizona Cardinals at St. Louis Rams

Winner: Cards'
Why? Let's be serious: The Rams won't do much this year.

Dallas Cowboys at Washington Redskins

Winner: Redskins
Why? I'm liking the way the team looks this year. A great offseason and, more importantly, a energized home field advantage. Skins/Cowboys split this year.

Baltimore Ravens at New York Jets

Winner: Ravens
Why? I'm not sipping the Jets Kool-Aid. Mark Sanchez will be the reason other people stop sipping it as well.

San Diego Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs

Winner: Chiefs
Why? With all the drama surrounding the Chargers, it's going to take a Week 1 loss to get their minds right. Unless Ron Burgundy is calling the game. You stay classy, San Diego.

You think I'm crazy? Think you can pick these games better than me? Let me know in the comments, or you can contact me on TWITTER. I'll be keeping my winning percentage up to date with each week's predictions. Let's get this season started!
