College Football Notebook
This weekend looks to be a great weekend in college football. Last weekend started with a bang, with Notre Dame notching a much needed win for their program against in-state rival Purdue, and Michigan rededicating their stadium, and then having sophomore quarterback Denard Robinson come out and set his own mark in Michigan football lore, amassing over 300 yards on offense. Then on Sunday afternoon Maryland beat a very game Navy opponent on the final play of the game with Maryland safety Kenny Tate stopping Navy star quarterback Ricky Dobbs on the one yard line. And what about the Boise State Broncos? They would rally late to defeat an upstart Virginia Tech Hokies squad. Yes, college football is here! finally.
Let's take a look at some of the key matchups that look to figure heavily on the rankings and the national title picture.
Miami at Ohio State: While I like Miami quarterback, Jacory Harris, his counterpart, is spectacular. My prediction is that Terrelle Pryor will have an amazing game and get a lot of help from his teammates on defense. Buckeyes roll!
Michigan at Notre Dame: I think Notre Dame will hang in there for a quarter or two, and then Michigan will turn on the jets, with speedy sophomore quarterback Denard Robinson leading the way. Michigan will win big in this one.
Penn State at Alabama: Penn State running back Evan Royster could start for most teams in the nation, and is a superb performer, I just think that the Alabama Crimson Tide have too many weapons in this one. Alabama wideout Julio Jones could have his way with the Penn State secondary.
