Notre Dame Will Defeat Michigan-Their New Quarterback Is Not Superman

This is amazing, Notre Dame wins it's first game of the season and some of it's fans are afraid of Michigan. Yes, their new quarter-back put up some impressive statistics. Yes, Notre Dame made many errors during their last game. Yes Notre Dame did miss some tackles last week. Does this mean that Notre Dame will lose this coming week? Absolutely not, people need to remember that Notre Dame has play makers on their team as well.

I do not believe that we saw all of what Notre Dame plans to do last week. I do think that Michigan's secondary is vulnerable, especially when their opponent can choose to run instead of passing. I also was impressed with the way Notre Dame's defense stepped up for most of the game. We have to remember what we have been suffering through these past several years. In short, I believe that our quarter backs are more matched in skills that many fans believe. Dayne Crist has run the ball successfully in the past. I think Coach Kelly to it easy on Crist to work him in slowly in order to protect his knees. We also need to remember that the Purdue quarterback is also very mobile and has a strong passing arm.

Notre Dame finally is using their player's strenghts instead of forcing them to adjust to a "superior system". Notre Dame does possess one of the best receiving corps in the nation. Our running backs seem to be superior to Michigan's as well. Notre Dame also has an excellent group of linebackers. Unfortunately, our offensive line and defensive line may not be good enough to make all the necessary plays. What I feel will be the deciding factor is what happened last year. That officiating crew, for whatever reason, stole that game from Notre Dame. With thought thought in mind, I will be greatly disappointed if Notre Dame does not score at least 7 touchdowns. We all know that Rich Rod will whine and cry the tally down to 5.
