The 10 Best Ultimate Fighter Moments

Andrew GladstoneSep 8, 2010

"The Ultimate Fighter" show has produced UFC superstars from the top contenders to UFC champions.

For some fighters, it has taken their career to new heights and given them opportunities only few have dreamed of.

While some fighters have fallen short of winning the finale, there have been those who can still find success in the octagon.

These are the top 10 best "Ultimate Fighter" moments.

10. Rampage Grabs Darril Schoonover

1 of 10

Ultimate Fighter season: 10

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson gave "Ultimate Fighter" hopeful Darril Schoonover or as "Rampage" called him, "Titties" a breast grab.

Of course Schoonover was incredibly upset at this incident and had been tired of all the jokes that had come his way, but it was a hilarious moment in television.

9. Forrest Griffin Cracks Voice

2 of 10

Ultimate Fighter season: 7

I thought it would be fun to bring back when Forrest Griffin was giving advice to Matt Brown in his fight against Jeremy May.

As you can obviously tell, Griffin was very irate and wanted Brown to show him "the animal".

8. The Backyard Brawl

Ultimate Fighter season: 5

This fight between Noah Thomas and Marlon in particular was nothing special, but it was truly shocking to see this fight happen.

Some people might find it strange that I put this on a best moment, but the truth is we all wouldn't be here if we didn't love watching fights.

Noah Thomas and Marlon Sims were both rightfully kicked off the show, but it was a moment that most UFC fans won't soon forget.

Ultimate Fighter season 1:

The most undersized member of the "Ultimate Fighter" season 1 cast, Kenny Florian managed to pull off the unthinkable by making it to the finals in the middleweight division.

Florian has since made the drop to the lightweight division where he has made a name for himself as one of the best lightweights in the world.

Some people didn't like the outcome of the fight due to the fact that Leben was pounding Florian, and that Florian won with an elbow strike that cut Leben, but still to take punishment from Chris Leben as a lightweight fighter and win is impressive no matter how you swing it.

6. Rashad Evans Wins The Ultimate Fighter Finale

Ultimate Fighter season: 2

Rashad Evans is small for even the light heavyweight division, imagining him fighting as a heavyweight right now is almost unfathomable.

However, Evans was determined not to lose as he defeated the much bigger Brad Imes via split decision in an incredibly draining fight.

5. Do You Want To Be a F***ing Fighter Speech

6 of 10

Ultimate Fighter season: 1

This clip is from the first season of the "Ultimate Fighter" when Dana White decides to give the guys a bit of tough love (no pun intended).

In almost every season Dana White gives the fighters a motivational speech and asks the all important question, "Do you want to be a f***ing fighter?"

4. Matt Serra Wins The UFC Welterweight Title

7 of 10

Event: UFC 69

Date: 4/07/2007

"Ultimate Fighter" season 4 winner Matt Serra did what many thought was impossible by defeating Georges St. Pierre.

Serra earned himself a title shot at St. Pierre by winning the fourth season defeating the likes of Chris Lytle and Shonie Carter.

Many people thought that based on barely beating Chris Lytle that Serra stood no chance at all, but the MMA world was stunned.

3. Forrest Griffin Wins The Light Heavyweight Title

Event: UFC 86

Date: 7/05/2008

"Ultimate Fighter" season 1 winner Forrest Griffin was coming off a huge upset win over Mauricio "Shogun" Rua before he faced Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.

Jackson was the favorite in the fight and still Griffin wasn't considered as the elite of the elite.

It was on this night that Griffin won an impressive unanimous decision victory utilizing punishing leg kicks and his significant reach advantage on "Rampage".

2. Rashad Evans Wins The UFC Light Heavyweight Title

9 of 10

Event: UFC 92

Date: 12/27/2008

"Ultimate Fighter" season 2 winner Rashad Evans and "Ultimate Fighter" season 1 winner Forrest Griffin made history back in December of 2008, when for the first time two "Ultimate Fighter" winners fought for the light heavyweight title.

Rashad Evans was down two rounds to none against Forrest, but in the third round Evans came alive and started taking it to Griffin.

After Evans managed to put Griffin on his back, he pounded Griffin with devastating punches on the ground and became the third member of the "Ultimate Fighter" to win a UFC championship.

1. Forrest Griffin Vs. Stephan Bonnar

Ultimate Fighter season: 1

It should come as no surprise that this is #1 in the best "Ultimate Fighter" moments as this fight not only was spectacular it did a lot for the UFC and the sport of mixed martial arts.

The fight between Forrest Griffin and Stephan Bonnar at the first Ultimate Fighter Finale was fantastic and was named fight of the year by many publications.

At one point the fight had 10 million viewers were tuning in to see this epic fight, that has almost single handily put UFC in the mainstream.
