Macho Rhino's AFC East 2010 Preview
AFC EAST
1. New York Jets (13-3) – The team made changes to a roster that made it to the AFC Championship last year. I think getting Revis back will keep their defense the best in the league and as long as Mark Sanchez plays steady at QB, they’ll be tough to beat. I don’t like the loss of Thomas Jones but with LaDanian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene, they should still have a solid running game.
2. Miami Dolphins (9-7) – Adding Brandon Marshall should be a huge help to Chad Henne. He’ll stretch the field and open up holes for still a good running game. They’ll need to stay healthy with those running backs though. They’ve got a tough schedule but should be able to challenge for a playoff spot.
3. New England Patriots (8-8) – The Pats have a very difficult schedule and there are a lot of questions for them opening the season. Wes Welker says he doesn’t feel right yet. Will the offensive line be able to keep Brady upright? Can the defense stop opponents? Injuries and inexperience on the defensive side of the ball leave a lot of holes. I think the Pats are watching the playoffs this year.
4. Buffalo Bills (4-12) – They’ve got a stable of running backs now and Chan Gailey should find ways to utilize explosive rookie C.J. Spiller. They passing game is still a question and the defense will need to be able to hold the opposition down because the Bills can’t win shootouts.
