Week 2 SEC Predictions; Watch Out Number 1

Matt ZadenSep 6, 2010

After a pretty decent weekend of beating up on smaller teams, except Ole Miss, its now time to start the real college football season. Most SEC teams are starting their conference games and others are playing a little bit better schools, more like junior colleges instead of high school. There are three conference match ups this weekend and six non conference games. Going down the list of games this weekend there is a few that might be eye openers for those teams. Most intriguing to the one you really don’t have to watch, except the Ole Miss. game.

Penn State Puts Down The Rolling Tide.

Penn St. at Alabama- Penn St. starting a freshman quarterback in a very hostel environment will be the wild card in this game. If Penn States qb can stay calm and play like he did this past weekend I think Penn St. has a shot at Alabama. Alabama don’t stand a chance if they come not ready to play. Joe out coaches Saban for the win.

Auburn at Miss St.- This game kicks off the weekend for the SEC. This should be the best game of the weekend. Auburn doesn’t have much of a defense. In both their opening games they scored over 49 points. However the Bulldogs only allowed Memphis to score only 7 points. Concern for Auburn? Maybe. This game becomes a barn burner!

Oregon at Tennessee- Neither team allowed their opponent to score a single point this past weekend. Both teams combined, scored over 120 points, that is a lot of offense! Do their defenses step up and not allow that many points or is this going to be a touchdown race. Oregon gets the best of Tennessee.

Georgia at South Carolina- South Carolina looked pretty impressive Thursday night and it looks like they might be a contender for the SEC east. However they have to out play a very good Georgia team this Saturday. The game is on during the day and its at South Carolina. I smell home field advantage baby!
