It’s far from often that you find the Steelers installed as underdogs at home, but it will happen Sunday, September 12th when the Atlanta Falcons invade Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to take on the Ben Roethlisberger-less Pittsburgh Steelers. The last time these two teams met came back in October of 2006 in a game that saw the Falcons pull out a 41-38 overtime victory in a game that saw Roethlisberger get knocked out and Michael Vick throw for 232 yards and four TDs.

Matt Ryan enters his third season as the Falcons starting QB looking to improve on his TD/INT ratio of 22/14 and guide the Falcons deep into the Playoffs. RB Michael Turner, WR’s Roddy White, Harry Douglas and TE Tony Gonzalez will be Ryan’s main targets in this high octane offensive attack. Atlanta filled a huge void at LB when they drafted Missouri’s Sean Witherspoon to help shore up their porous stop unit from a year ago.

The absence of Ben Roethlisberger entering their 2010-11 football betting campaign will be noticed and it could prove vital against the pesky Falcons. The Steelers will have to rely on RB Rashard Mendenhall, TE Heath Miller and their strong receiving corps of Hines Ward, Mike Wallace, and Antwaan Randle El to carry them through the first four games without Big Ben. They drafted Center Maurkice Pouncey to anchor the line and help protect whichever field general is leading the offense’s charge.
