T.J. Houshmandzadeh Signs With Baltimore Ravens Who Now Have Deadly WR Combo

T.J. Houshmandzadeh (Housh) was surprisingly released from the Seattle Seahawks when they had to make their final roster cuts, but now the Baltimore Ravens have scooped him up and it makes their receiving group one of the most deadly in the NFL.

In the offseason, the Ravens acquired Anquan Boldin and Donte' Stallworth to bolster their receiver group along with adding two rookie tight ends Ed Dickson and Dennis Pitta.

Starting quarterback Joe Flacco was already happy with all the new weapons that are at his disposal, but now add Housh to the mix and the Ravens have a deadly combination starting at wide receiver now.

Boldin is a tough and physical player who can be a deep threat along with going over the middle to get the tough yardage while getting beaten up by opposing safeties and linebackers.

Housh is made for the middle of the football field and when he was a Cincinnati Bengal, he was quarterback Carson Palmer's favorite target from the slot.

From a period of time stretching from 2006-2008, Housh had over 90 catches in each of those seasons and he will bring his ability to play in the slot to the Ravens.

The Ravens are clearly a favorite to win the AFC North division now, but they still have issues in their defensive secondary due to injuries and they will be without superstar safety Ed Reed for the first six games of the 2010 regular season.

With the Bengals teaming up Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco making up the AFC North's first super receiver group, now the Ravens have matched that with their super receiver group with Boldin and Housh.

Ravens fans have to be thrilled right now and this pairing is sure to make it difficult on all other AFC North teams and the rest of the NFL in 2010 too.
