Darrelle Revis Signs: Revis Island Open for Coverage Again with New York Jets
If Hollywood was never around, would some sports story lines be as entertaining as they are?
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the New York Jets and their star defensive player, Darrelle Revis, have officially agreed on a deal.
This isn't to break the news. A lot of people upon reading this may have heard it.

So what does this mean for the Jets and Revis himself?
Well, for the Jets, Jets fans, and NFL fans, the last episode of HBO's Hard Knocks should be quite interesting. That's where Hollywood comes in.
During this season the Jets have seen some detailed coverage of rookie fullback John Conner. Tony Richardson was the starter at fullback until Saturday, when the team cut the four-time Pro Bowl veteran.
If it doesn't all come to your head by now, basically the Jets released Richardson because (1) they had faith in Conner, and (2) the move freed up money to make Revis the highest-paid defensive player in New York Jets history.
For Revis, he's happy. He wanted to be paid more than Oakland Raiders cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, and instead he became the highest-paid player in his team's history.
Now the question isn't "Will Revis sign?" but rather "Will he produce for his money?"
Many star players have been known to let the money go to their heads. Revis is clearly the best cornerback in the National Football League, shutting down nearly every wide receiver he has faced, including the likes of Randy Moss, Andre Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, and Brandon Marshall, just to name a few.
If the money doesn't mess with his head, Revis will prove his actual worth.
The final episode of Hard Knocks should be a great one. Veteran and team leader Tony Richardson won't be there, highly praised rookie John Conner will fill his spot, and—most importantly to the team, the personnel, and fans of the New York Jets—No. 24, Darrelle Revis, will be on the field.
He will also be taking part on Monday Night Football, so fantasy owners should play Anquan Boldin with caution, as he will be stranded on Revis Island.
The Island is back in the Meadowlands, cold weather and all. No doubt, Rex Ryan couldn't be happier.
