What's Next For USC Legend Matt Leinart?

Earlier today, it was announced the Arizona Cardinals have released Matt Leinart.

In 2006, Leinart was a top NFL quarterback prospect. He was the 10th overall pick in the NFL Draft by the Cardinals.

He lost his job twice: once to Kurt Warner and now to Derek Anderson. What's next? Well, I will go through several possible destinations for Matt Leinart.

Buffalo Bills

The Bills expressed interest in Leinart this off-season.

They are now saying they are no longer interested in him, but how? None of their current quarterbacks are proven or seem to be a long-term solution.

Leinart could bring more competition and a possible long-term solution. This is my most likely option. (Source: ESPN)

Pittsburgh Steelers

I doubt this will happen, but think about it. Ben Roethlisberger is suspended for the first four games, leaving the quarterback spot open.

Byron Leftwich was the front runner until being injured and is now expected to be out until Roethlisberger returns.

Dennis Dixon has shown potential but is still very raw and needs more time to develop. Dixon could struggle early on, resulting in getting benched.

Charlie Batch is coming off a serious injury and may not be 100 percent. Batch is also aging and has a bonus coming up if he makes the team.

If nothing else, Leinart could give the Steelers another option.

Indianapolis Colts

He would not start, that's not the reason the Colts would bring him in.

Curtis Painter has been terrible when he's been on the field since being drafted from Purdue.

Leinart could step into the Colts backup spot and learn from one of the best ever, Peyton Manning.

This depends on whether the Colts are sold on Curtis Painter and whether Peyton Manning is willing to be Leinart's mentor.  

Oakland Raiders

This makes no sense to me. You bring in Jason Campbell, a guy who was constantly threatened with being benched in Washington and bring in Matt Leinart?

I don't see it, but rumors suggest the Raiders have expressed interest.

Football wise, this makes no sense.

However, with Pete Carroll's ties to Matt Leinart, it is hard to throw away this option.
