EPIC NFL Thanksgiving Slate 🙌
Charlie Batch To Start Over Dixon
Bryan BrackneySep 4, 2010
Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that Charlie Batch is expected to start for the Steelers week one regular season game. Batch surprisingly gets the start over third year player Dennis Dixon.
Let's take a look at how the Steelers quarterback situation has changed over the past couple of months.....
Ben Roethlisberger, the starter, is suspended 6 games for breaking the NFL's personal conduct policy. The Steelers then sign veteran quarterback Byron Leftwich, who competed with speedster Dennis Dixon.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
After that the NFL decides to take two games off Roethlisberger's suspension. Leftwich had just about won the starting job when he injured his MCL in the Steelers last preseason game. Now, out of nowhere (or 2001), the Steelers have decided to name Batch their starter.
I have already taken fantasy action, dropping Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner from my squad and adding Batch. I don't plan on keeping Batch long; I'm working on a trade to send Kenny Britt for Matt Moore. I also have that Tebow guy.
Starting Batch over Dixon would seem crazy, considering that Batch only had 17 snaps this preseason, and he was not used in the first or second team in training camp. Expect Dennis Dixon to be used in some packages as well, Batch won't be taking all of the heat.
For all we know Byron Leftwich really isn't injured.
