Tiger Woods: Moving Up in the Deutsche Bank Championship, Heating Up the TPC
Tiger Woods is minus-four through eight holes as he plays now for his PGA survival on Day Two of the Deutsche Bank Championship.
The previous rain has made the morning rounds somewhat easier, and Tiger is taking advantage of soft greens as I type.
Ladies and gentlemen, it looks like Tiger Woods will be a factor in weekend play.
Currently leading this event are Stephen Ames, at minus-nine, and Steve Marino, at minus-eight.
Yesterday's leaders are still waiting to tee off, as it is almost 10 a.m. Eastern Time.
Expect more good play from Jason Day, starting Saturday's round at minus-eight, and Zach Johnson, also at minus-eight.
The Yahoo! Fantasy Golf team this week of Steve Stricker (19th), Rory McIlroy (sixth), Camilo Villegas (37th), and Matt Kuchar (25th) are doing well so far with much golf to be played today.
Let's hope all the best players are still teeing it up next week for the next round of the FedEx Cup playoffs, to be held at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club in Dubsdread Lermont, Ill., for the BMW Championship.
Woods is six shots out of the lead here, so anything could happen in a matter of hours that could firm up his confidence for the Ryder Cup, still putting him in the hunt for the FedEx Cup.
A win this weekend would sure get people buzzing!
I will be back later this evening for a full recap of the day's event, plus another look at the leaderboard.
Have a wonderful Saturday.
