2010 NFL Preview: San Francisco 49ers and Frank Gore Hang Fan's Stockings

The Night before Kickoff

T’was the night before kick off and all through the land,

The faithful were waiting for something quite grand.

Regarding Alex there has been much debate,

To hell with just being good, he needs to be great.

Gore, Westbrook, and Dixon will run the ball with such care,

For they know if they fumble, coach will rip out his hair,

Davis and Morgan will make the big grabs,

As well as “Ziggy” and a guy named  “Crabs.”

The O-line has been strengthened by a couple of rookies,

Iupati and Davis are as big as two Wookies!

They’ve been working hard and practicing daily,

Chilo, Baas, and that amazing Joe Staley.

Heitmann will return and give the line more steel,

He just needs more time for his fibula to heal.

The full back position is not on the lamb,

Moran Norris will be a battering ram.

Delanie, Byham, and a speedster named Ginn,

Don’t drop the damn ball, please force us to grin.

There are others on offense but too many to list,

If I leave you off, I hope you’re not pissed.

The strength of this team is defense, or so some would say,

And super star Patrick Willis will earn his new pay.

 Takeo, and Parys, and that other guy named “Manny,”

These guys will hit hard and not like your granny.

Laboy and Brooks will be summoned for quarterback sorrow,

As well as Wilhelm, perhaps Diggs? And the youngster Navorro?

Aubrayo is back from his protracted hold out,

RJF is good, but not quite as stout.

Smith and “Soap” will be manning the ends,

This defense doesn't break, but sometimes it bends.

Clements and Spencer will be off to the races,

While picking off passes and winning the chases,

I am not sure at all, who will be manning the nickel,

This just might be the team’s only true pickle.

Goldson and Lewis will be laying the wood,

Smith and Mays will also be good.

Andy Lee and Joe Nedney will be doing the kicking,

As opposing teams are taking a licking.

Do not despair as we have neared the end—— but just of my story,

For kickoff is near and the 49ers return—-their return to glory!
