HBO's Pacquiao/Margarito 24/7 Returns October 23rd

King JSep 2, 2010

According to a press release, the ground breaking, 12-time Emmy winning reality series, 24/7 returns Saturday October 23rd on HBO with 24/7 Pacquiao/Margarito.

Manny Pacquiao, the sport's biggest star, returns to fight the controversial and now reinstated Antonio Margarito at the Dallas Cowboys stadium in Arlington, Texas November 13th on HBO Pay-Per-View.

Pacquiao/Margarito 24/7 will provide us with a four part episode of intimate behind the scenes looks into both fighters training camps, interviews, and of course, hype and drama for the upcoming fight.

HBO president Ross Greenburg made the following statement, "‘24/7’ excels when there is great drama and this fight has it.  Manny Pacquiao continues to conquer new challenges in the ring and in his life, while Antonio Margarito returns to the ring having been through a very controversial episode that polarized many in the boxing community.  ‘24/7’ will examine all aspects of what has taken place since the night Antonio Margarito fought Shane Mosley.  We will chronicle the suspension handed down to Margarito and the subsequent reinstatement process.”

Episodes two and three of 24/7 Pacquiao/Margarito debut on subsequent Saturdays—Oct. 30 (10:00-10:30 p.m.) and Nov. 6 (10:45-11:15 p.m.)—while the finale debuts Friday, Nov. 12 (9:30-10:00 p.m.), the night before the intriguing showdown.  All four episodes will have multiple replay dates on HBO, and the series will also be available on HBO On Demand.

Pacquiao 51(38)-3-2 will be looking to further cement his legacy with an unheard of eighth division title as he battles Margarito 38(27)-6 for the vacant 154 lb. WBC title belt. Margarito will be fighting for redemption and a second chance to get back into the elite status of fighters by taking on the the number one pound for pound fighter in the world.

This will be Manny's fourth appearance in the 24/7 series and Antonio's first.

There is much buzz and controversy about this match up mostly due to Margarito's illegal handwrap scandal and the fact that many view both Manny and Margarito to not be worthy of fighting for the vacant 154 lb. WBC title seeing that either fighters has not done anything in the 154 lb. division.

As for the 24/7 Pacquiao/Margarito, it should definitely be interesting to see how it will pan out seeing that English is not the primary language spoken by either fighter.

Throughout the last several years, Manny's English has improved drastically much like his fighting skills and super stardom.

Margarito on the other hand has lost his ability to speak English even worse much like the drastic decline of his fighting ability. I guess we will be reading a lot of subtitles during these four episodes.

Will you watch 24/7 Pacquiao/Margarito and Pacquiao vs Margarito? Even though a lot of people are claiming they won't, at the end of the day the numbers never lie.
