Petra Kvitova (27) Vs. Kim Clijsters (2)
2 of 6
One of the few matches tomorrow between two seeded players in the women's third round, this match will be the second of three in Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Petra Kvitova, the 20-year-old from the Czech Republic, beat Lucie Hradecka 6-4, 7-5 in the first round and Elena Baltacha 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 in the second.
Kim Clijsters, the second seed who calls Belgium home, easily took out Greta Arn 6-0, 7-5 in the first round and Sally Peers 6-2, 6-1 in the second.
Kvitova reached the semifinals in Wimbledon earlier this year, so she does have a powerful enough game to potentially pull off a massive upset here. However, she has struggled throughout the year after that Grand Slam.
Clijsters will not make it easy for Kvitova. She is the defending champion and on a 15 match winning streak. She's quick and strikes the tennis ball better than anyone else when she's on top of her game. However, she does have a nagging hip injury and does tend to be inconsistent at times.
Shahar Peer (16) Vs. Flavia Pennetta (19)
3 of 6
One of the top matches of day five will be this struggle between the No. 16 seed Shahar Peer and the No. 19 seed Flavia Pennetta.
Peer beat Jelena Kostanic and Pauline Parmentier in straight sets in the first two rounds.
Penetta also easily advanced past her first two opponents, as neither Irina Falconi nor Agnes Szavay was able to take a set against her.
This match should be quite intense, with both evenly matched players fighting for the right to advance to the next round and a potential match with No. 3 seed Venus Williams.
Daniela Hantuchova (24) Vs. Elena Dementieva (12)
4 of 6
This match between Daniela Hantuchova and Elena Dementieva is yet another struggle between two seeded opponents. The match will be played at 11 AM in the Arthur Ashe Stadium, the opening match of the day.
Hantuchova beat her opening round opponent Dinara Safina in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, and then beat her second round opponent, Vania King, in three sets.
Dementieva has been on cruise control thus far. She easily beat Olga Govortsova 6-1, 6-2 in the first round and then took out Sybille Bammer 6-3, 6-4 in the second.
As the No. 12 seed in the tournament, Dementieva will be looking to move on much farther than the second round. Her eyes are set on her third title of the year, but Hantuchova is no pushover.
Rafael Nadal (1) Vs. Denis Istomin
5 of 6
Whenever Rafael Nadal plays, it's going to be one of the matches to watch. The No. 1 seed will continue his quest for the missing Grand Slam title of his career when he faces Denis Istomin during the second night match at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Nadal didn't win everyone over with his first round performance, but he did come away with a victory over Teimuraz Gabashvili in straight sets. Two of those sets, though, did require tiebreakers.
Denis Istomin also advanced in straight sets when he beat Maximo Gonzalez 7-5, 7-5, 6-1.
Nadal should win this easily, but look for him to try to assert his dominance early and often to send a message to the rest of the field.
Andy Murray (4) Vs. Dustin Brown
6 of 6
Another top seed among the men takes the court on Friday, No. 4 seed Andy Murray, who will challenge Dustin Brown. The match will be the third of the day in Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Murray easily beat Lukas Lacko 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 in the first round.
Brown had a much more difficult time with his first round opponent, Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo. It took only three sets, but they were hard fought, 6-4, 7-6, 7-5.
Expect Murray to handle Brown with ease as he continues his collision course towards a semifinal showdown with Rafael Nadal.
