900th Episode Of Raw: What Will and What Won't Happen

Jeff LangridgeAug 30, 2010

The "record breaking" 900th episode of Raw happens tonight. There have been many rumours about who's going to be there and what will happen. I'm here to discuss the good ideas, the bad ideas, and the absolutely absurd ideas.

First off, Bret Hart has confirmed that he will be there, but that's no longer so special. Smackdown and NXT will appear, but in which capacity is uncertain. Undertaker has been the only Smackdown superstar that has been prominently featured in the promos. I'd expect the casket match between Undertaker and Kane at Night of Champions to be announced tonight.

It would be smart to hype the finale of NXT tomorrow night, but I'm not sure if WWE will do a good job. I have an idea that would hype the finale, get the eliminated rookies of NXT some more screen time, and give the Nexus some more steam after last week, where they did nothing.

Alex Riley, Kaval, and Michael McGillicutty should have a confrontation with the Nexus early in the show. The Anonymous GM would then announce a 6-man tag match between Riley, Kaval and McGillicutty against Justin Gabriel, Michael Tarver and Wade Barrett.

The match would start, but before long Heath Slater and David Otunga would come down. Nexus should go on to a cheap win. Slater and Otunga would join the others in the ring for a further beatdown. Husky Harris, Eli Cottonwood and  would appear to make the save before attacking Riley, Kaval and McGillicutty.

Barrett grabs a mic and announces since the Nexus numbers have been slowly dwindling he has added, in his opinion, the best that NXT season two to Nexus. The new Nexus seven would stand in the ring triumphant.

All right, back to the rest of the show.

I'm not going to waste as much time as WWE will with the whole Laycool-Melina angle tonight. They should just announce the unification match and that's it.

A lot of people have been saying The Rock will make an appearance tonight. I just don't see it happening. How many times have we said, "The Rock's coming back," only for him to not show up, leaving all you people who got your hopes up disappointed. It would be great if he actually did show up, but I'm not expecting anything.

Now, the anonymous GM. Many have said that he should reveal himself tonight. Again, I don't think so. I don't think even the WWE knows who the GM is. By that I mean they haven't decided on who it should be yet. Most likely it will come down to either Michael Cole or Vincent Kennedy McMahon himself.

I also expect to see some configuration of singles matches between the Six Pack Challenge participants. My best bet? Sheamus vs. Barrett, Cena vs. Jericho, and Orton vs. Edge.

Hopefully WWE can actually make this show good and maybe even surprise us. I'm not holding my breath though.
