EPIC NFL Thanksgiving Slate 🙌
Week 1: Dolphins @ Bills Preview
Bryan BrackneyAug 29, 2010
Overview: The Bills have had a strong preseason under new head coach Chan Gailey. Gailey likes to emphasize the power running game, but he is not afraid to change his schemes to better fit his personnel. The Dolphins are trying to get back on track after missing the playoffs last season. Both teams have similar offenses and defenses, and this game could turn out to be a chess match between brain powers.
Players To Watch
- Trent Edwards: Edwards has has a strong preseason, and it will be interesting to see if he can add life to the Bills offense.
- Chad Henne: Henne has a strong arm, but he struggled with accuracy last season. Pairing him with Brandon Marshall could jumpstart his career.
- C.J. Spiller: Spiller is my prediction for the offensive rookie of the year. He is fast, elusive, and he can get yards after contact.
- Ronnie Brown: Brown returns after missing a lot of the 2009 season, he should see a lot of action against the Bills weak front seven.
- Aaron Maybin: Maybin is inserted into the starting lineup after longtime starter Aaron Schobel left the team. That is some large shoes to fill.
- Chris Clemons: Clemons first test as the Dolphins starting free safety will be a thing to watch for on Sunday.
Fantasy Outlook
Quarterbacks: Neither Chad Henne nor Trent Edwards should start on your fantasy team unless you do not have any better options. Henne will face the underrated Bills secondary, while Edwards is not know as a player who puts up big fantasy numbers.
Running Backs: Both teams should run the ball a lot in this game. C.J. Spiller could be a threat in both the rushing and receiving game with backups Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch out. Spiller should start in your flex spot. Ronnie Brown is a safe option to start, and is a solid option in the flex. The same goes for Ricky Williams.
Receivers: With the exception of Brandon Marshall, I don't think any of the receivers in this game should start. Marshall is in the best shape of his life and his size creates huge mis-matches. Other players to consider in the flex are Brian Hartline, Steve Johnson, and Lee Evans.
Prediction: The Dolphins take down the Bills in a game that was ruled on the ground. The Bills started off OK early on, but could not keep up with the Dolphins late in the game.
