Why 2010 Is Frank Gore's Year
In the world of fantasy sports most people hate two things: running back timeshares and Frank Gore.
In every fantasy draft I've ever taken part in, the first round Frank Gore pick has always caused some controversy. In some cases it's understandable; he is, to an extent, injury prone.
But disregarding that fact, and understanding that basically every running back is at high risk for injury, Gore's 2010 season has hopes for being the best of his career.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
To start, for the first time in his career Frank Gore enters the season with a legitimate No. 1 quarterback at the helm. Alex Smith took over the starting job midway through last season after (surprisingly) Shaun Hill couldn't get it done.
Smith immediately developed some chemistry with rookie wideout Michael Crabtree and elite tight end Vernon Davis. The chemistry has continued to grow throughout the preseason and should turn the 49ers into an actual aerial threat for the first time in many years.
This is significant to Gore because the success of the passing game will allow him some breathing room, as defenses will not be able to key in on the run.
There have also been numerous improvements to the 49ers' offensive line. First off, tackle Joe Staley comes into this year completely healthy. This alone provides optimism, as Staley, the team's best lineman, was injured for much of last season.
The 49ers also used two first round picks on tackle Anthony Davis and guard Mike Iupati. These two 6'5" beasts have showed promise throughout camp and throughout preseason games and are sure to have breakout years blocking in front of Gore.
Frank Gore has all the pieces around him and he certainly has the skill set to finish within the top three running backs in 2010. If he can stay healthy and the offense clicks like I believe it will, this year could be outstanding for Gore and his teammates. Though his numbers in '06 could be a challenge to top, Gore could give them a run for their money this season.
This entire team shows so much promise. I have no doubt that this year, with many contributions from Frank Gore, the 49ers will easily win the NFC West.
