Fantasy Football Player Rankings: NFL Preseason Week Three
The most important week of the NFL preseason is coming to a close, and fantasy player values are changing at a rapid pace. Some players like C.J. Spiller and Arian Foster have moved up fantasy owners draft boards with strong play and an opportunity to start. Others, like Jay Cutler and Tony Romo are starting to look shaky due to ineffective play.
While it’s nice to see players have success at this time of year, it is worth remembering not to drop proven players too far down based on preseason results.
One battle that we all wanted to see this week was the unexpected quarterback controversy between Derek Anderson and Matt Leinart in Arizona. Both quarterbacks played well but it was Anderson that started this game. These quarterbacks will probably get considerable playing time again in week four.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Below I have a listing of the week three preseason games and just after this list I have more thoughts on the final fantasy relevant week for the preseason.
Week Three
Patrick Willis Looks Great
The 49ers inside linebacker has been the top IDP fantasy star for the past few seasons but this year he might be even better. In his first two preseason games Patrick Willis has done a great job blowing up plays behind the line and has a sack in each game. If Willis can find a way to rack up around eight sacks this year he will be a bigger force in Big Play IDP leagues.
Panthers Front Line Making Plays
Carolina may have lost Julius Peppers this offseason but in week three of the preseason they had no problem getting to Vince Young. Charles Johnson, Everette Brown and Richard Marshall all had at least one sack.
Not only did the Panthers front line make plays in the passing game, but they also stopped Titans running back Chris Johnson as he posted just ten yards on eight carries.
If the Panthers can play respectable up front it will go a long way to their odds of making a run for the playoffs in 2010.
Matt Schaub Looks Ready To Roll
The Texans’ passing game struggled against the Saints’ but Matt Schaub, and his pass catcher came back strong against the Cowboys. Schaub looks primed for another big year and if Arian Foster can run the football with respectability it will make his job even easier. Look for Schaub as a clear top five option at quarterback this season.
