Here are 10 predictions for tonight's matches...
Pierce Vs. Alvez
1 of 10
Alvez, the Brazilian who will be making his UFC debut, is known for his aggressive style in almost trying to win fights by submission.
While, Pierce usually tries to take his matches all the way to the end. Of his three losses, none have come via submission.
Prediction: Alvez tries to takes down Pierce with an early submission and Pierce extends the match to go all three rounds. Pierce wins by decision.
Ospiczak Vs. Soto
2 of 10
Soto is coming in to this match trying to avenge his first loss of career, which saw him get disqualified for an illegal upkick in the third round.
Ospiczak, also took his first loss against Rick Story in a split decision in his last match.
Prediction: Ospiczak wins by decision. He uses his height and reach advantage on Soto to inflict frequent hits on his opponent. Soto will try to takedown Ospiczak to no avail.
Miller Vs. Salter
3 of 10
Miller has suffered three consecutive defeats by unanimous decision. Four losses in a row and it could mean his UFC job.
Salter is coming off of a match which his opponent, Jason McDonald, suffered a gruesome knee injury. Salter got a win by TKO.
Predicition: Miller wins submission because he is fighting for his existence. Truth is Salter is not as talented as MIller's last three opponents, so Miller should have the advantage.
Winner Vs. Lentz
4 of 10
Lentz hasn't lost a match in over three years.
Winner, judging by his record, mostly takes his matches to the end. But that's not going to be to his advantage.
Prediction: Lentz keeps his winning streak going and wins either by submission. In the off chance that this match does go to the end, Lentz still wins by decision.
Lauzon Vs. Ruediger
5 of 10
Lauzon is 2-2 in his last four matches but had a very exciting match in his loss against Sam Stout.
Ruediger hasn't been in the UFC for what seems like in ages. And unlike Lauzon, isn't very exciting.
Prediction: Lauzon wins by submission, in front of a hometown crowd. With both fighters being aggressive, this match will never go to the end.
Diaz Vs. Davis
6 of 10
Diaz is 2-3 in his last 5 matches, while Davis 3-2 in this last 5.
Both fighters are also coming off TKO victories against their opponents on punches.
Prediction: Diaz wins by submission.
Florian Vs. Maynard
7 of 10
Florian is ranked as the no. 6 fighter by Sherdog and has one loss in his last nine matches.
While Maynard is an undefeated 9-0, with a win against UCF lightweight champion Frank Edgar.
The winner of this match will get a chance at the Lightweight championship.
Prediction: Maynard keeps his winning streak and wins in a very tough match against Florian. This match goes to end and Maynard wins by decision.
Maia Vs Miranda
8 of 10
Maia is a notorious grappler with a tremendous ground game.
Miranda is a striker with a long reach. His only chance is to stay on his feet.
Prediction: Maia takes this game to to ground and wins by submission.
Couture Vs. Toney
9 of 10
James Toney is a boxer turned MMA fighter with something to prove.
Couture is a UFC veteran with motivation to show pundits that he can easily dispatch a boxer.
Their reputations are on the line and Toney is already viewed as a longshot by most pundits.
Prediction: Tougher match that most would expect. But experience should win in this match. If the match goes the distance, Couture should win by decision. The only chance Toney scores an upset is if lands one of his patented knockout punches and takes Couture by surprise.
Edgar Vs. Penn
10 of 10
Frankie Edgar was responsible for pulling off a tremendous upset the first time these two faced-off against each other.
Edgar beat Penn with better conditioning and speed. This allowed him to take advantage with timely takedowns and frequent jabs.
Prediction: Unless Penn has decided to improve upon his conditioning, similar results are likely to happen. There's no way he can keep up with Penn's lateral movement. If so, Penn wins by decision.
