After the United States' failure in the 2006 World Cup, coach Bruce Arena found himself without a job and United States Soccer President Suni Gulati found himself trying to replace Arena with one of the greatest footballers of all-time.

That footballer was non other than the coach of Germany as they finished in third in the World Cup in Jurgen Klinsmann.

Klinsmann, of course, was living in the United States at the time in California, and had worked for the Los Angeles Galaxy prior to working for Germany as a technical adviser.

But Klinsmann declined the job and in came Chivas USA coach Bob Bradley as the new coach for the Americans.

And under Bradley, the US started to go with a much-needed youth movement and started to play much better as a whole.

The US were able to win the 2007 Gold Cup in Bradley's first competition and were able to go to the Confederations Cup final and finish first in CONCACAF qualifying before going to the 2010 World Cup.

And in the World Cup, the United States were able to finish first in their group for the first time since 1930 as the US lost in the round of 16 in extra time to Ghana.

After the loss, Gulati started to distance Bradley from the US job, saying that "I think the team is capable of more. I think the players know it. I think Bob knows it. At that level, we are disappointed we didn't get to play another 90 minutes, at least."

And recently, Bradley has now been linked to the Aston Villa job and has made it pretty clear that he would love the job.

But after a recent meeting with Gulati, Bradley could see his tenure as US coach now at a conclusion due to Jurgen Klinsmann meeting with Gulati over the US job, according to ESPN reports.

But even if Bradley's time is all but over, Jurgen Klinsmann is not the right man to take over as the head coach of the United States national team.

For starters, Bradley was able to become a great coach for the US national team due to the unique structure that the American soccer system is.

As a "graduate" of the system, Bradley was able to make use of it in a way that only someone with his experience could do.

But, Klinsmann does not understand the American system to the knowledge that the coach of the United States should.

Klinsmann is more familiar with the system of development that is used throughout the world to really develop kids from a young age to become professional soccer players as teenagers.

But in the United States, these kids go to college and get a degree and never partake in this system, which long has been a detriment to the US game.

The next factor why Klinsmann should not become the American coach is due to the young players that are now the focus of the US team.

Bradley has helped develop these kids as the former coach of the United States U-23s before taking over as the head coach of the national team.

With Jozy Altidore, Charlie Davies, Michael Bradley, and Jonathan Spector (among others), this US program is used to Bradley as their coach, and it would be easier for everyone for Bradley or someone in the American system to be in charge.

The final reason why Klinsmann should not take over is due to his failure to get appointed back in 2006.

Back when Klinsmann declined to take the job, he pretty marked himself in a way that showed that he was not only the man for the job at that time, but he has a strike against him in case he wanted to become the coach of the United States in the future.

His failure to take the job also showed that he did not believe in becoming the coach of the USA, and that he was better off going elsewhere for work.

Even though it appears that Bob Bradley's time is up as head coach of the United States National Soccer team, Jurgen Klinsmann is not the right man for the job and someone from the American soccer system should take over as the new head coach of the USA.
