10) Danny Almonte

Blame his parents. Almonte tore up up the Little League, until officials found his birth certificate and tore up his records. Almonte never panned out as a prospect. 

9) George Steinbrenner "Digging up Dirt"

Dave Winfield was playing so terribly that his owner decided to hire a detective to "dig dirt" on him so he could get his contract removed. Probably one of the reasons why Steinbrenner's death was received with mixed reviews. 

8) Fritz Peterson & Mike Kekich Swapping Wives

Apparently in the 70's, the two Yankee players (and best friends) decided to experiment and swap families and wives for the day. Ah, the seventies. 

7) Delonte West Knocking Jumpers (And Boots)

(okay, it's probably true)

Everybody in the NBA besides the Lebron camp says it's true. I think Delonte needs to a sit down with Jim Gray to settle this once and for all. 

6) Rosie Ruiz and the Marathon

Did she actually think she would get away with it? In the early 60s Ruiz cheated during the Boston Marathon, ran off the course, and was declared the winner for a few hours after the race, before officials figured it out. 

5) Tonya Harding & Nancy Kerrigan

This picture is probably the only nice picture of the two. Harding's antics turned the Olympics into a soap opera. 

4) Muhammad Ali and Vietnam

In a short period, Classius Clay changed his name to Muhammad Ali and openly defied America by refusing to fight in Vietnam. He was banned by boxing for three years.

3) Michael Jordan playing AA baseball

It's rarely a superstar leaves a team to go to another one Now how about leaving a team TO GO TO ANOTHER SPORT. MJ left titles at the door with the Bulls to go play AA baseball.

The Black Sox make Pete Rose and the steroid guys look like wimps.
