2010 Fantasy Player Rankings: Greg Camarillo Traded To Minnesota Vikings

Greg Camarillo needed a change after the Dolphins traded for Brandon Marshall, and the veteran fell to fourth on the depth chart. While Camarillo doesn’t have the speed that would make him a star receiver, he is a useful player and has shown fantasy relevance in the past.

For the Vikings, they need all the receiver help they can get now that it is possible Sidney Rice could be placed on injured reserve.

Beyond Rice’s health issues, fellow receiver Percy Harvin is in serious question to play all sixteen games as he’s had constant migraine problems that sent him to the hospital last week.

With only weeks to go before the season begins the Vikings have traded for Camarillo (gave up a corner back) and signed Javon Walker. While Walker has had success with Brett Favre in the past, he’s probably not going to be an option to find the field regularly. Camarillo, however, could be a useful player in the slot as the Vikings are looking to move Harvin to the outside.

Fantasy Impact

Camarillo shouldn’t be a player you look to own on draft day. That said, if Harvin should have a laps in his migraines and miss more time, Camarillo would be worth a waiver wire pickup. Outside of Bernard Berrian, the Vikings won’t have many receivers to contest with Camarillo and Favre has made average receivers fantasy relevant in the past.

Because Camarillo has decent hands and is a capable possession receiver his fantasy value should be strongest in PPR fantasy football leagues.
