Vincent Jackson Trade: Five Teams Who Should Deal for the Disgruntled WR
Just like Brandon Marshall earlier this offseason, there is once again league-wide interest in another disgruntled, yet talented All-Pro wide receiver.
This time it's the San Diego Chargers' Vincent Jackson.
After being suspended for three games for substance abuse violations and wearing out his welcome in San Diego, Jackson appears to be on his way out.
A trade could very well happen soon, since waiting after the Sept. 4 deadline for final roster reduction could add an extra three games to his suspension.
Faced with the reality of missing the first six weeks of the season, Jackson could actually lower his contract demands to make a trade happen.
Here are five teams who should trade for Vincent Jackson...
No. 5: Jacksonville Jaguars
1 of 5
Since they play in the same conference, the Jags are probably the least likely team on this list where the Chargers would be interested in sending Jackson.
But they do have a need at WR and Mike Sims-Walker could benefit from his presence.
Adding Jackson to the team definitely makes them better, but doesn't necessarily make them a championship contender, and A.J. Smith, Chargers GM, knows that.
The only way the Jags get Jackson is if they up the ante. The Chargers covet a first-rounder or a package of high draft-picks.
Judging by the Jaguars past history, they'll shy away from the asking price and Jackson's contract demands.
No. 4: Minnesota Vikings

With Percy Harvin dealing with migraines and Sidney Rice out with a hip injury, the Vikings suddenly find themselves with uncertainty at their wide receiver position.
True, they still have threats in Vinsanthe Shiancoe and Bernard Berrian, but this is an all-or-nothing season for the Vikes.
Since Favre is back, they're an immediate contender, and adding Jackson to the mix may be too good of an opportunity to pass up.
No. 3: Chicago Bears
3 of 5
The last time Jay Cutler had a bonafide receiving threat, he was teamed up with Brandon Marshall, when both had became a formidable tandem while with the Denver Broncos.
Could Jackson be in his future?
Somehow Cutler's arm, Jackson's ability as a deep threat, and Mike Martz's fast-break offense is a pretty interesting thought.
Together, they could reignite a woeful Bears offense which nearly cost Lovie Smith his job.
At the very least, they need to make an offer, just to try to keep Jackson away from the Vikings.
No. 2: Washington Redskins
4 of 5
New coach Mike Shanahan knows all about disgruntled receivers, dealing with Brandon Marshall in Denver.
So does new quarterback Donovan McNabb, after his Terrell Owens experience in Philadelphia.
And owner Daniel Synder is not afraid to spend money, so Jackson can probably get his big new contract here.
Hey, the Redskins need more from the wideout position than what Santana Moss has been giving them.
Then, adding VJax to the mix could actually be a good match for all parties.
No. 1: Seattle Seahawks
5 of 5
The Seahawks are the only one's on this list that have been publicly given permission by the Chargers to speak with Jackson.
The 'Hawks already missed out on the Brandon Marshall sweepstakes this offseason, so they'll probably do whatever they can as to not let another star receiver slip by.
If there's anyone who's aggressive enough to give up a first-rounder for him, it could be Pete Carrol.
After initially rebuffing Jackson's contract demands, they'll probably start up talks again before the Sept. 4 deadline and find a way to make it work.
