NFL Predictions for 2010 Season: Division Winner Picks

Jake WinieckiAug 23, 2010

These are my preditions for how I think each division will turn out this season.  The records are by how good I think the teams are, not game by game, so it probably won't add up to an overall .500 record for the league.  Feel free to comment on this article and give me your picks.

AFC East

1 of 8

1. New York Jets (10-6)

2. New England Patriots (9-7)

3. Miami Dolphins (9-7)

4. Buffalo Bills (3-13)

I don't think that the Jets won't be as good as they think they will be, but with that being said they will still be the team to beat in their division.  I think the Bills are already on the clock.

NFC East

2 of 8

1. Dallas Cowboys (12-4)

2. Washington Redskins (9-7)

3. Philadelphia Eagles (8-8)

4. New York Giants (7-9)

The Cowboys will be one of the top contenders in the NFC this year, and I think that the Giants are better than a 7-9 team, but they'll be beat up by a tough schedule, mainly within the division.

AFC North

3 of 8

1. Baltimore Ravens (12-4)

2. Cincinnati Bengals (10-6)

3. Pittsburgh Steelers (8-8)

4. Cleveland Browns (6-10)

The Ravens have serious concerns in their secondary, but I think that the offense will be much better than last year.  I don't think the Steelers will make it without Big Ben.

NFC North

4 of 8

1. Green Bay Packers (13-3)

2. Minnesota Vikings (10-6)

3. Chicago Bears (6-10)

4. Detroit Lions (6-10)

The Packers are loaded at every position.  If they can get through some injury problems they'll be one of the top teams in the league.  The Vikings were 12-4 with a near perfect and healthy Brett Favre.  I expect him to take a small step back, and so will the Vikings.

AFC South

5 of 8

1. Indianapolis Colts (11-5)

2. Houston Texans (10-6)

3. Tennessee Titans (9-7)

4. Jacksonville Jaguars (5-11)

The Colts will decrese in wins because the rest of the division has gotten better, but they'll still be good.  The Jaguars just have to many weaknesses to win in a division like this.

NFC South

6 of 8

1. Atlanta Falcons (11-5)

2. New Orleans Saints (10-6)

3. Carolina Panthers (6-10)

4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-12)

The Saints defense won't make as many game changing plays as last year and the offense can be near perfect again.  The Falcons should surpass them, but the Saints will still be contenders in the playoffs.

AFC West

7 of 8

1. Oakland Raiders (9-7)

2. San Diego Chargers (8-8)

3. Kansas City Chiefs (6-10)

4. Denver Broncos (5-11)

I love the Raiders front 7 and running game this year.  I think the Chargers have too many problems to be better than an 8-8 team this year.  Tebow may need to start earlier than planned.

NFC West

8 of 8

1. San Francisco 49ers (11-5)

2. Arizona Cardinals (6-10)

3. Seattle Seahawks (6-10)

4. St. Louis Rams (3-13)

The 49ers season depends on Alex Smith.  They could sweep the division this year too.  I think the Cardinals lost way too much to contend.  Kurt Warner is a huge loss, but couple that with the loss of Karlos Dansby, Anquan Boldin, and Antrell Rolle and your in trouble.  Joey Porter and Kerry Rhodes can't make up for that.
