Way To Go Mike! Redskins Coach Stands Up For What Is Right
Way to Go Mike!
Hoorah for Mike Shanahan, really. In a day and age where many coaches and players alike forget about what has made the NFL great, Mike is an unmovable mountain, standing up for what is right, directing his team (read team) to understanding the basic philosophy of those wanting to play and start for him as he takes over an ailing Redskins franchise. You know which team I am talking about; The great Washington Redskins, with its cross dressing fans, the Hoggetts, who in the 80’s terrorized the NFC East with a combination of Hogs, stellar QB’s, pulverizing running backs, sticky handed receivers, and a similarly staunch disciplinarian by the name of Joe Gibbs. I love the fact that Mike Shanahan was quoted as saying, “In order to play, you need to practice. The days are over when a guy can start without practicing.”

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Wait a minute Mike, you mean even the great 100 million dollar man Albert Haynesworth? Childress and other coaches like Childress, who Laud big contract players and take it easy on them for fear that they would upset their fat wallets with discipline should take a lesson from Shanahan, who by all rights is going to take the Redskins to a level not seen in some years. My prediction? Shanahan and his team of well disciplined, solid players will take the East, and be a contender in the playoffs. Haynesworth, who was quoted as saying, “I’m a ninth year pro.” is upset, because I would guess in his mind, ninth year pro’s with fat contracts are exempt from practicing. I wonder, was he reading out of the Brett Favre playbook?
If the NFL is to remain great, we need to continuously support coaches like Mike Shanahan, who understand what it takes to build a championship team.
For all of those future NFL stars, take note, discipline is what will make you great. The greatest players practice harder than those standing on the sidelines.
This is Louie “The Rock” Santana, and that is the way I see it.
