Mark Sanchez Is the Most Overrated Player in the NFL
Mark Sanchez is the most overrated quarterback in the NFL.
Sanchez is so overrated that he shouldn't even be rated.
Take a look at two players stats:

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Player A: 2444 passing yards, 12 touchdowns, 20 interception, 63 passing rating
Player B: 2547 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, 74 passing rating
Player A, as Jets fans already know, is Mark Sanchez during his first 16 games in the NFL. For those who haven't figured it out yet, Player B is Matt Leinart during his first 12 games as an Arizona Cardinal back in 2006.
Now Sanchez and Leinart are too very similar people. They look the same. They both had success at USC. They both were coached by the same sleaze bag, Pete Carroll. They both are "pro-style" quarterbacks (meaning they drop back and pass, instead of running around like their heads are cut off). They both look, dress, act, and look the same: like they're running late to a group orgy with six or seven drop-dead gorgeous California socialites.
Why would I possibly compare Leinart and Sanchez? Because Leinart's getting the heat in Arizona, and people are already crowning Sanchez as the king of all QB's.
What I don't seem to understand is how Mark Sanchez is supposed to lead this Jets team to the Super Bowl.
Do people think he's some amazing quarterback? Do people really think that?
If anything, he moves the Jets back. Under Rex Ryan, the Jets will win games with running the ball and tough defense. This is the perfect team for a game manager quarterback who sits there, moves the ball cautiously with drop-offs to the running backs, doesn't make mistakes, and reaps the benefits of what his other teammates do.
It's what Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson did perfectly.
The only problem with the Jets this year is that their starting quarterback, the guy that is supposed to lead their franchise, throws an insane amount of interceptions. He makes Kyle Orton and Alex Smith look like damn pro bowlers.
It's pathetic.
And his play is completely his fault too. I understand that Braylon Edwards and Jericho Cotchery may be a little bit past their primes, but it's not like he was throwing to a group of 5th round picks (like Jay Cutler was) or a bunch of exaggerated kick-returners (like Chad Henne).
He went 9-7 last season in the regular season?
Only, 9-7.
The Jets had the No. 1 defense and the No. 1 rushing team in football last season.
And the only reason why they didn't have a losing season is because they got to play the Indianapolis and Cincinnati backups two weeks in a row.
Look, the Jets will be a fine football team this season. They won't make the playoffs, but they'll be good. Unfortunately, the reason why they won't make the playoffs will be because of Mr. Sanchez. It won't be because of LaDanian Tomlinson and the cancer he brings to the locker room. It won't be because of Rex Ryan's bloated gut and bloated mouth. It won't be because of the Darrelle Revis holdout, and it won't be because of Braylon Edwards and Santonio Holmes not living up to their expectations.
It will be because of Mark Sanchez.
Not exactly the Broadway Mark we've been waiting for.
