WWE Film 'Legendary' Could Be the Studio's Best Movie Yet
John Cena is going to be appearing in his third WWE Films project when it debuts September 10. The film was originally going to be called "Brother's Keeper" but the name was changed to "Legendary." This may have been done to avoid confusion with the other dozen movies that have been made with the same original title.
The films centers around a young student who hopes to reunite his broken family by joining his high school wrestling team. At first the plot sounds thin, but there is more to it. The patriarch of the family had been a college wrestling legend who died 10 years before the film is set.

His death split the family a part and the eldest brother, played by John Cena, fell into a harder lifestyle. Cena's character is approached by his mother to help train his younger brother who is now a high school wrestler.
Patricia Clarkson plays the mother of Cena's character in the movie. Danny Glover plays a sort of mentor role. Having an Academy Award nominee in Clarkson and a Hollywood legend in Glover could make for some good moments in the film.
WWE Films has been a part of nine movies if you include this one. In the past all their movies have centered around action. This film goes a different route and focuses on family and a dramatic story.
Word from the actors on set is that Cena is a great talent to work with and should impress a lot of people with this film.
Being a fan of Danny Glover since "Lethal Weapon" and "Gone Fishin'," I am definitely going to see this movie. I have waited for WWE to be a real contender in the film industry since they began. This could be their first real shot at true Hollywood success.
Vince McMahon said that he created WWE Films because he "Wanted to win an Oscar."
I'm not saying this movie will be a contender, but if WWE keeps going in the direction they are currently facing with their films, then eventually that could become a reality.
I hope this movie is as good as the hype because it is a huge opportunity for Cena to prove he can act to all the haters out there.
Will you go see " Legendary" when it debuts in September?
