Check Out Time At The Favre-Hater Hotel

J.T. Sounds OFF- August 19, 2010

We all work for two reasons.  One being money.  As for the second reason?  Well this isn't a top priority for everyone.  I gotta believe a good majority of you work your rear off to gain some sort of seniority at your job.  Why not right?  It could eventually lead to more of reason number one, money.

That being said, hasn't Brett Favre earned a certain level of seniority in your mind.

The resume is loaded.

Let's start with the fact that Favre shows up to work every game day. 285 consecutive regular season starts to be exact.  Now, that alone you would think would get one, some respect around the office.

He stands alone atop numerous amounts of other NFL records including touchdown passes and passing yards to name a few.

Favre isn't someone who shows up and goes through the motions either.  He holds the all-time NFL record for most games with at least three touchdowns at 73.  He also has an all-time best of 18 consecutive 3000 yard seasons.

Did I also mention he's won a Super Bowl?

Before you continue to hate on Brett Favre for his inability to make a concrete decision prior to August you should also consider this.

It takes two to tango.

Favre may be the star of this yearly soap opera, but the director certainly deserves as much, if not more of the blame.

Head coach Brad Childress and the Minnesota Vikings may not have written this script, but they are the people who allow this story to continue the way that it has.

If the Vikings truly wanted to give Favre a deadline of sorts to come forth with a decision then they should have.  After all, they do make all final decisions.

You can't tell me that you didn't take advantage of a few perks around the office that you got away with just because you were, you.

It's time for everyone to check out of the Favre-Hater Hotel.

Your witnessing an all-time great at the most enamored position in professional sports.  That being the quarterback.

Don't waste your final moments to watch Brett Favre on the field hating on the guy for something you yourself would take advantage of if given the opportunity.
