Brett Favre Practices: 10 Things We Imagine Happened in Vikings Return
Well, here we go again. Brett Favre is back on the practice field and has returned more times than Jason Voorhees at this point.
With that in mind, it's time to imagine what it was like in Vikings camp when Brett showed up at the facility today so the media circus could begin in earnest. It's going to be fun. It's going to be serious. It's going to be a good time.
#10: Stocking Up

With the Vikings trying to prepare Brett for the rigors of a full NFL season, he's going to need certain things to get through the year in the best shape possible. Metamucil is a must. It's a staple for men of his age.
Throw in some Centrum Silver, and Brett's going to be able to play like he did last season.
#9: The Red Carpet

Since the Vikings spent the entire offseason rolling one out for him, they should have at the facility today.
Just throw that baby down from the locker room to the field, put the press photographers along the side and make him feel like the diva he truly is.
#8: Tavaris Who?

With Brett returning again, it means Tavaris Jackson is no longer needed in Minnesota. He probably showed up today and found his locker moved to a crappy area of the locker room.
I wouldn't have been shocked if they took his playbook away. He'll probably have to serve Brett drinks on team flights. Just another loss for Tavaris.
#7: Personal Assistants

Or as we know them as—teammates.
After Brett was pleaded with like he was the king of England, flown back up to Minnesota on a private jet, and then driven to the facility by the team's kicker, there's no reason this trend of constant care shouldn't be continued through the season.
Brett probably had his pads carried to the field for him, and I'm sure that Jared Allen will be there to valet his car right to the door for him because we wouldn't want him to strain himself trying to get home.
After all, Favre is the savior—for a team that won the division without him just two years ago.
#6: Animosity
5 of 10
On a serious note, I just don't know how the rest of the Vikings can be happy about this whole saga. For two whole offseasons, their work has been overshadowed by Brett Favre and his drama.
Adrian Peterson is one of the best running backs in the league but all we hear about is how the team is bending over backwards to make Brett happy. I bet that Minnesota wouldn't do that for any other player on that roster.
If the Vikings organization had any spine, they would have stood up to Favre and moved on without him.
This mercenary-type behavior (think Roger Clemens during the twilight of his career) is awful for a team and its chemistry and could haunt the Vikings.
#5: Media Lovefest
6 of 10
I don't expect there to ever be one tough question thrown at Brett Favre.
For some reason, the media loves Brett Favre but seems to disapprove of other divas like Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens. Those guys are all about themselves but Brett's just that old country boy gunslinger who loves to play him some football.
I wish someone in the media had the guts to stand up and ask him if he thinks it's fair to do this to his teammates and Minnesota's fans. Sadly, that's wishful thinking.
#4: Lies

Brett has already said that he felt he owed it to Minnesota to give it one more try to win a Super Bowl after how close they got last season.
Let's be honest, it's all about Brett. It's always been about Brett. He made Minnesota come beg and plead with him to come and play football.
He had the Vikings so twisted they sent three established veteran players visit him to sway him to come back.
That's not a team player. How different is that from Barry Bonds having two lockers and recliners in San Francisco?
Not much if you ask me.
I'm not sure what he's told teammates privately, but I would take it with a grain of salt if I were them.
#3: Mismanagement
8 of 10
Brad Childress has no idea what he's doing. He brings in Favre last year because he knew the system.
He begged and he pleaded and then by the end of the year, things were a big frosty between the two because he tried to keep the offense tied into his gameplan and didn't let Brett loose.
I'm not a Favre fan, but he's Brett Favre. He's won a Super Bowl and you knew what you were getting.
If you're not going to trust your starting quarterback, you're not going to win a championship.
I fully expect Childress to screw this up or there to be more friction this season. I'm sure Childress opened practice with some speech about team unity and it was pointless because his behavior until then has shown that Favre is more important than the team.
#2: The Countdown
9 of 10
Sunday, October 24.
Favre will come back to Green Bay again and after striking out last year, the Packers and their fans will get two more shots to get revenge for Brett going to one of Green Bay's biggest rivals.
The Lambeau faithful will never forget or forgive what he did.
So I'm sure Brett has already put a calendar up on his locker and circled that date and can't wait to extract more punishment on his former team.
#1: Hope

Let's be honest, for all of Brett's faults, he gives them a chance to win a Super Bowl, something Tavaris Jackson or Sage Rosenfels doesn't ever give them hope of.
Favre had them a few plays away from the big game last year and there's no reason they can't make it there this year.
It won't be easy, but with Favre under center, the Vikings are a contender.
I'm sure a lot of the team knows that, even if they are secretly holding a grudge about the whole process that landed him in Minnesota.
