Bryce Harper And Other Famous Athletes and Their Pop Culture Alter-Egos

RM HeroldAug 18, 2010

According to reports, the Washington Nationals have not only signed their No. 1 draft pick Bryce Harper to a $9.9 million, five-year deal, but they have just recently made room for him on their 40-man active roster by moving a pitcher to the 60-day disabled list.

Harper has been in the news not only for his talents and for signing his contract near the deadline, but also for his face paint.

Let me go on record as saying I would wear clown makeup right now for $10 million, so the kid has nothing to be ashamed of.

But all that being said, who does he remind you of?

And while we're at it, here a a few more athletes and their alter egos.

Big Papi As...

1 of 25

We'll start with a couple of easy ones.

Everyone knows who Big Papi is compared to, right?

The Green Ladies Man Himself

2 of 25

Slight resemblance in build and overall personality.

Everybody loves both of them.

But if Papi is Shrek...

What About These Two?

3 of 25

These two come as a group and they have already claimed the name Shrek and Donkey for themselves.

I Think They Wear It Better

4 of 25

We gotta give the nod to Nate and Big Baby, right?

They wear it proudly.

Tyler Hansbrough

5 of 25

This one is big on the Internet, but I don't see the resemblance.

I think Beaker looks much more like...

Rajon Rondo

6 of 25

Maybe it's the head shape. Or I can be just absolutely wrong.

I can admit it if I am.

Kendrick Perkins

Speaking of the Celtics, KP is my favorite. No one considers him part of the Big Three or the Big Four. But without him in Game Seven, no title.

But still, no one is more laid back than Perk.

Even in this interview where he is the most animated you will ever see him, he still reminds me of a cartoon I grew up watching.

Am I The Only One Who Watched This?

Can anyone make this into a ringtone for me?

I need people to know that I can do The Bear!

Bryce Harper

9 of 25

This one is tough, so I'll give you a couple choices and you decide.

John Randle

10 of 25

You can't go wrong if people compare you to a seven-time All-Pro linebacker, right?

This Is The Easier Choice

11 of 25

Yeah, we can see it, but how about a little out-of-the-box thinking?

Now This Is What I'm Talking About!

12 of 25

The Ultimate Warrior.

And maybe some warrior theme music when he comes out to bat.

This One Is My Favorite

13 of 25

Study the pictures closely and tell me you can't see the resemblance to...

Wolverine!

14 of 25

Am I right? If Wolverine lost a whole lot of weight and muscle.

And had a really bad day? Didn't sleep the night before? Yes?

How about here...

Wolverine?

15 of 25

Am I getting closer?

Then it's definitely this...

Nailed It!

16 of 25

If you saw this picture on a Wanted Poster you would immediately call Phil Jackson, right?

Chad Ochocinco As...

17 of 25

This one is too easy, but I have a question for you...

It's All in The Arms

18 of 25

How great do you have to be at something before they call you the Lord of it?

He is the freaking "Lord of the Dance"!

That means, if you were going to try and river dance professionally, don't.

Just stop. You won't beat the Lord of the Dance.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Michael Flatley.

Big Ben As...

19 of 25

This one took some thinking, but I think I got it...

The Undertaker

20 of 25

If he goes in to see Roger Goodell dressed like this?

Suspension dropped.

Avery Johnson

21 of 25

Let me say upfront I didn't come up with this.

And whoever did, please contact me for your pat on the back...

Ike From South Park

22 of 25

Just genius.

Kick the baby, people.

Kick. The. Baby.

One Of The Classics

23 of 25

Again, not mine.

This one has been around a while.

Randy Johnson, the heat thrower himself, as...

Emu

24 of 25

But recently this has been updated...

I don't necessarily agree, but I bring it to your attention.

The New Randy Johnson?

25 of 25

My work is done here, people.

Here's wishing Bryce Harper a great first season and maybe even Rookie of the Year!
