Rogers Cup Day 3 Tennis Betting Tips
Flavia Pennetta v Alisa Kleybanova
Flavia Pennetta’s good run on hard courts continued with a comfortable victory over Daniela Hantuchova yesterday. The Italian, who’s made quarter final appearances at the last two US Open’s is building up a head of steam for this year’s too. Recent victories over Maria Kirilenko, Sam Stosur and Vera Zvonareva show how good this girl can be on hard court. Not one to get carried away with herself, but I expect her to handle Alisa Kleybanova well on Wednesday, and produce a more comfortable victory than the odds suggest. The Russian has beaten Jelena Jelankovic recently, but generally she gets eliminated when she comes up against a good opponent.
Victoria Azarenka v Maria Kirilenko
Victoria Azarenka will be looking for a run deep into the Rogers Cup this week after a disappointing performance in Cincinnati last time out. She look well-rested and prepared yesterday when she demolished Kateryna Bondarenko in quick time and that to me says she’s ready to go far here in Montreal. Maria Kirilenko too had a comfortable victory on Tuesday, dropping just 3 games to Dominika Cibulkova. But the Russian hasn’t had back-to-back victories since the Bank of the West Classic, a tournament that Azarenka won. Since then, she has exited in the second round at the hands of Flavia Pennetta and Vera Zvonareva. Another step up in opposition on Wednesday when she faces Azarenka says to me she’ll be checking out after the match.
