Fantasy Football Rankings: Which Online League is Best?

Ethan NorofAug 17, 2010

In a generation of convenience, most fantasy football owners want to utilize the platform that makes the game most enjoyable. Whether it’s the live scoring feature, the display of the owner’s team, or the provided pre-ranks each website boasts a unique aspect that differentiates itself from its competitors.

So how do owners know which is really the best? Unfortunately, there’s no “one size fits all” category in life. Especially not for fantasy football.

While ESPN.com rolls out its red carpet of fantasy experts and rankings, Yahoo Sports focuses more on unique analysis and insight from its featured columnists for its users. Even CBS Sports takes its own dynamic approach as its display page is nothing like either of the aforementioned.

The best way to decide what league best suits you is to try them all. Obviously, most owners don’t have the time do so. And that’s why I’m here.

There is no greater fantasy experience than the one provided by ESPN.com. With mock drafts constantly available at any time of day, owners can use the practice drafting against opponents to get a good feel for the coming season. In addition, ESPN provides up to the second updates that allow owners to track players’ stats from the original kickoff through the final whistle.

The best part of ESPN? Its unique ability to power past firewalls. How frustrating is it when you’re blocked from making a roster move? Very. I can’t emphasize how many times I’ve lost a hot pickup via the wire due to a firewall blockage, and I’m certain that this has happened to others as well.

Don’t waste your time trying to circumvent the system; simply sign up for ESPN & enjoy your season—every game is too meaningful to waste.

Tell me what you think. Leave a comment below to give us your platform of choice and why it's the best to use.
