Brett Favre Is Back: Quarterback Legend Returns To Vikings

Guess someone got tired of LeBron James taking up all the headlines. Senior NFL Writer Jay Glazer is reporting Brett Favre is flying back to Minnesota to join the Vikings.

If this report is true Minnesota fans have to be ecstatic. There will surely be some horn honking on the way home by Viking supporters.

This is also a good thing for the NFL. Love him or not Brett Favre is always exciting to watch on the field. He can be exhilarating and good or nearly atrocious and bad.

Despite a poor game in the NFC Championship Favre had a great season with the Vikings. He played much better than during his season in New York. I thought he could have easily won the the NFL MVP award.

This addition definitely bolsters the Vikings chances to win their first ever Super Bowl. Minnesota was a couple bounces away from being in last year's "Big Game." With Favre back under center the Vegas odds will instantly be adjusted.

This does, however, hurt fantasy owners who have Adrian Peterson. With Favre at quarterback Minnesota will continue to put forth a balanced attack. Favre likes to hit his receivers for big plays. He doesn't seem to favor just settling for little dumps to his backs.

It can also be said that his addition will open the field up for Peterson even more. Having a proven gunslinger enables for the running game to be even better. It doesn't allow for defenses to put 8 or 9 in the box often. This would give Peterson more lanes to run through.

Favre did it again. He may not have gotten the same off season press that he is used to but then went out of his way to pull a 'Magic Man". "Now you see me and now you don't....Abra Cadabra Holmes."

Whatever the case it's a great day for Favre fans and "Viking Nation". I for one will be rooting for him to win it all. At the very least it means we won't have to go through any more Favre "Decisions" come next off season. Wait or would he then want to repeat?
