Tim Tebow or Sam Bradford: Who Would You Take?

Ben GoldsteinAug 16, 2010

First off, I know this piece of writing either way is going to get me many negative comments, but after thinking more about the quarterback situations in Denver and St. Louis I had to get this off my chest.

Tim Tebow or Sam Bradford, who would you take? I know almost everyone would say Bradford because of his amazing arm that could make any throw.

And not a lot of people would not take Tebow because of his mechanics, such as his bad throwing motion that could get the ball stripped very easily.

But you know who I would take?

Tim Tebow.

Trust me I'm not a huge fan of him. I don't like him or hate him, but I can see him having a better NFL career than Bradford.

Tebow has a been a winner his entire life and has always been doubted whenever he comes up to the next level of ball. Just recently I was reading a quote from Lane Kiffin (who I despise but he is a respected recruiter).

“Well, I would say this about Tim: Every step of the way, he’s been questioned,” Kiffin said. “I remember going into his high school, going to see him and going out there to his ranch with his family and them coming out here and spending the whole weekend with him, and everybody at that time was saying the same thing (as now).

“He had gone to some quarterback camps, and they said, ‘Well, he doesn’t throw a perfect spiral, and he’s not very accurate.’ And the guy just went on to be maybe the most successful quarterback ever to play college football. Now they are going to do it again. They are going to say he can’t do this and he can’t do that."

After reading that quote, Tebow's personality shined to me.

Tebow will use his doubters as fuel to just become better.

And after watching his first preseason game, he seemed very sharp with a new delivery. I know it's only preseason, but he seemed like a whole new quarterback to me.

But I think we can really credit Josh McDaniels who is a quarterback guru that will help Tebow very much. McDaniels seems to have already fixed that hitch in Tebow's throw and it looks as if it works.

And Tebow doesn't stop there.

He can also run. After completing a very difficult pass rolling out of the pocket and throwing across his body to a receiver down the field the Broncos were inside the red zone.

The ball was snapped and Tebow stepped back to throw to see no one open. He took off right up the middle and met two defenders at the goal line and took the blows to score a touchdown.

That is not an everyday quarterback that can take those kind of blows and score a rushing touchdown.

Now I'm not saying Bradford is a bad quarterback but with all his past injury concerns and the Rams offensive line, it doesn't look good for him right now.

In the end, Bradford will get hurt and not be able to be the No. 1 pick he was supposed to be.

Also, Tebow has a lot of great pieces around him such as a good receiving core and a solid offensive line.

But what really stands out to me is what Tebow does when he is questioned.

He just keeps improving his game and more importantly, he wins.
