UNC Investigation Will Linger at Least Until December
The USC investigation may have taken about three years, from the date when the case brought by an agent against Reggie Bush and his parents first surfaced. Florida State's NCAA investigation took two years. Alabama's textbook violations took about two years to investigate.
The NCAA Alabama investigation started with Alabama conducting its own investigation and turning itself in.
So what is with the view that somehow the current Carolina investigation(s) will take a few weeks? Nothing.
Indeed, the situation is more complex than in other investigations because this one appears to be based on multiple agent situations where alleged illegal favors were provided by the agents and/or their surrogates. And in the most recent revelation, John Blake a Carolina coach is implicated.
That this will not be over until at least December was a foregone conclusion by the time the Blake disclosure happened. It is one thing to rush to judgment over a college football player's Tweets. It is quite another to destroy a football coach who has given his life to college football.
So, The Real Truth is that the earliest the outcome of this investigation against the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) will occur is by year-end. And that is optimistic.
