NFL Two-A-Days: Buffalo Bills' 2010 Season Preview

Ryan FryeAug 13, 2010

This idea originated from ESPN's Mike & Mike. I will now preview the Buffalo Bills. I will warn you, Bills' fans, if your looking for hope, this isn't what you need to read.

1.) Who will emerge as the Bills' QB: Trent Edwards, Ryan Fitzpatrick, or Brian Brohm?

I would love to be able to point to a guy, but I can't. Ryan Fitzpatrick does not have the physical tools to be a long-term answer at quarterback.

Trent Edwards has been very inconsistent and he has lost his confidence.

Brohm was a second-round draft pick by the Packers and was cut a year later. When a team cuts a second-round pick after one year, it shows they had no faith in him. When Brohm had a shot last year, he failed once again. I can't answer this question, none of these guys are NFL-caliber starters.

2.) Will rookie C.J. Spiler become the Bills' most explosive runner since Thurman Thomas?

He's explosive, that's for sure. Spiler is also very versatile, as he can return kicks and punts. They will pair him with Fred Jackson to create a good 1-2 punch. Jackson rushed for 1,000 yards last season. Jackson is a between-the-tackles back while Spiler is the explosive one.

3.) Have the Bills done enough to sure up the O-Line?

The only addition was Cornell Green, who will start at right tackle. How does Cornell Green fix a line that gave up the fourth most sacks in the NFL? He doesn't, which will water down the Bills' only offensive strength: the running game.

4.) Does Buffalo have the right pieces to make the switch to the 3-4 defense?

You've got three solid linebackers rotating inside. The move may benefit Aaron Maybin, who was a big bust in 2009. Except for Dwan Edwards, the defensive line is better suited for the 4-3. The secondary is very deep and a rare strength for this team.

5.) Record?

3-13, last in the AFC East.

I'll be back on Monday to preview the Tennessee Titans and Detriot Lions
