COWBOYS PACKIN' HEAT: DOOMSDAY 4 HAS ARRIVED

Look for the Cowboys to bring the heat on opposing QB’s this year  with a vengeance. Along with OLB's  Demarcus Ware  Anthony Spencer NT Jay Raliff are relentless. Spencer cranked up the pressure in the second half last season and led the NFL with 25 hits  on quarterbacks.  SI’s Peter King had Ware, Spencer and Ratliff on his All-Pro team. Ware may be the best defensive player in the NFL, although an argument could be made for a healthy Troy Polamalu.

With Marcus Spear not getting in the backfield much since being drafted in  the first round  five years ago out of LSU, look for young vets DE’s Jason Hatcher (Grambling) and Stephen  Bowen (Hofstra) to get more playing time. These guys wreak havoc, and have stepped it up in pre-season. Coupled with blitz packages from their deep roster led by ILB captain Brady James, the sack total could very well be in the 55-60 range this  season. 

 Second year OLB Victor Butler is having a strong camp this year, as is Brandon Williams and this year’s second round pick from Penn State, nickel linebacker Sean Lee.  Look for DOOMSDAY 4 to spend some heavy time in the oppositions backfield with ferocity and regularity.
