NFL Two-A-Days: Kansas City Chiefs 2010 Preview
Before I begin, I am now entering the the second half of this series. I am previewing every NFL team, two every weekday until August 23. This is the same format ESPN's Mike & Mike are using, even the same questions. I am just answering with my opinion, although so far I have agreed a lot with Mike & Mike.
1.) What will Offensive Cordinator Charlie Weis do for Matt Cassel?
Cassel ran Weis' offense in New England, under Bill Belicheck and Josh McDaniels. He ran it very well, but he did have Randy Moss and Wes Welker compared to Dwayne Bowe and Chris Chambers. Weis should help Cassel, but more offensive weapons are needed.

2.) Will the Chiefs ground game finish in the top five in the NFL via Thomas Jones and Jamaal Charles?
They were 11th last season without Thomas Jones. Both Charles and Jones rushed for over 1,000 yards last season. They will now split carries, Thomas Jones will be the back to get the tough yards in between the tackles. Jamaal Charles is the explosive one, who can bust open a defense for six at anytime. This is going to create a lethal duo and automatically take Kansas City's running game to new heights.
3.) Is this Dwayne Bowe's breakout season?
Bowe is very inconsistent, as he drops too many passes and doesn't make big plays often. In his three years in the league, he has had 1,000 yards once (in 2008.) 2009 was his worst season yet, not even getting to 600 yards. I wouldn't expect to see anything big out of Dwayne Bowe, besides perhaps him finding a new team for the next NFL season.
4.) Can Romeo Crennel dramatically improve the Chiefs defense?
Romeo should continue the transition to the 3-4 scheme this year. He is an excellent defensive coordinator and won Super Bowls in New England (similar to Charlie Weis.) It once again will depend on the talents they've got on defense. Glenn Dorsey and Tyson Jackson are the keys. They have showed nothing so far after being pick in the top five. Eric Berry should add a play-maker to the secondary and improve the middle of the pack secondary.
5.) Record?
The Chiefs are still young and have time to grow. They need someone from the receiving core to emerge. On defense, they need Tyson Jackson and Glen Dorsey to improve in every area. These two had a combined one sack while giving the Chiefs the 31st ranked defense against the rush: Ouch! I feel like 7-9 (tied for third in the AFC West) is very optimistic for this team, but I'm sticking with it.
