Linda McMahon: Top 10 Political Scandals Her Hubby Vince Would Create

Ryan RudnanskyAug 11, 2010

As many of you have probably heard by now, former WWE boss Linda McMahon won the Connecticut Republican Senate nomination. She will duke it out with Democratic state attorney general Richard Blumenthal in Connecticut.

Of course, the first thing that came to mind was how husband Vince McMahon would factor into the campaign (naturally). Here are the Top 10 political scandals Vince would create.

No. 10 Vince Becomes a Little Too Close to Donald Trump's Family

1 of 10

Pally bud Donald Trump bought WWE Monday Night Raw from Vince in June 2009.This would seem to be a good (rich) buddy for Linda to have on her side.

But just as Linda begins to win over the American voters, Vince relapses to his womanizing ways, getting a little too close to Daddy Trump's hot daughter, Ivanka.

Trump denounces Vince and Linda for eternity and sues them for the rest of the WWE.

No. 9 Vince Assures That Backyard Wrestling Doesn't Hurt American Youth

2 of 10

Linda's main focus this campaign has been avoiding WWE stereotypes and focusing on America's real problem: getting jobs.

But Vince, in an effort to help out, labels Backyard Wrestling as the best place for children to rise from an impoverished youth and spring from unemployment.

"It not only is the training grounds to be the next multimillionaire wrestler," he'll say, "it also builds character, a healthy upper body, and acrobatic creativity." The media have a field day.

No. 8 Vince Attacks Reporter In Episode of Roid Rage

3 of 10

Ironically, the question that sets off Vince is: "Do you believe steroids affect a person's temperament and why haven't you warned kids against this?"

Vince, dealing with the increasing pressure of having to act civilized around the media, has been taking roids non-stop since the campaign began. He snaps, flying off the handle.

"Steroids are perfectly healthy!" he bellows. "If they weren't I wouldn't have the strength to do this!" (He takes the reporter by the ear and throws them into the nearest ring, where Stone Cold Steve Austin just happens to be waiting, thirsting for blood.)

No. 7 Vince McMahon Compares WWE to a Soap Opera

4 of 10

In an interview with the AP, Vince tries to persuade critics that, sure, women bark like dogs and male wrestlers use pelvic thrusts to down females in the ring, but they forgot the "soap opera elements" that lead up to these moments. Oh wait, he actually said this August 9 (I'm not kidding).

The fact that he used a soap opera as an appropriate programming example makes it even worse. Ya, those soap operas, the writing is just so good and the story is filled with commendable integrity...NOT.

No. 6 Vince Uses Bad Choice of Words In Describing Linda's Debate Skills

5 of 10

When asked how he would describe Linda's debating prowess, Vince, not thinking, says, "It's easy. She's the loudest barker of them all."

He forgets that many a woman have barked like dogs in the WWE, opening up a whole new discussion on why Linda or Vince never discouraged these actions.

No. 5 Vince Uses Stephanie McMahon As An Example of Linda's Parenting

6 of 10

"If Linda is such an uncouth person," he asks, "how could've she raised such a fine young lady in Stephanie?"

This is met with laughter from the media, foot-stomping, and Linda fainting instantly, unconscious, as if she was slammed by Stephanie herself.

No.4 Vince Mentions Stephanie McMahon...Period

7 of 10

Each mention of Stephanie drops Linda's approval rating by 20 percent.

Unfortunately, Vince uses her name twice in one sentence and the race is over. This picture is a symbol of Vince and Stephanie "tag-teaming" Linda and KO'ing her in the first round.

No. 3 A Women's Group Releases a Campaign Crippling Video Starring Vince

8 of 10

A women's group, let's call them Mother's Opposing McMahon, puts out a video detailing on why Linda's WWE is "humiliating, degrading, and incredible violent treatment toward women."

Really? This already happened too?

No. 2 Vince Slaps Stephanie In the Ring To Boost Ratings

9 of 10

Oh c'mon, now, you can't be serious...this was actually Linda?

This really happened? And they have video of it (see previous MOM video)?

There's only two things that could hurt Linda's campaign more and one of them has already happened...yes, Stephanie retaliated.

And the No.1 Political Snafu...Vince KO's Linda

10 of 10

In an effort to boost ratings, Linda enter the ring with Vince. The plan is for Linda to knock out Vince, symbolizing her campaign slogan, "Empowering Women One Smackdown At A Time."

But the plan backfires...Vince, entering the "situation critical" stage of 'roid rage, instead turns the tables on Linda, picking up a trash can and knocking her unconscious for the remainder of the campaign.

Vince effectively gives the Senate seat to Richard Blumenthal.
