THIS IS ARSENALS YEAR!!!

The wait is over, the drought has ceased. This season Arsenal football club will lift the Premier League title.

Over the last 5 years Arsene Wenger has sought to balance the books while providing top level football with great success, just missing out on major silverware (2006 champions league final and 2 near misses in the league) Now he has assembled a squad capable of winning the Premier League.

There is one weakness in the team and that is the lack of an outstanding number 1 goalkeeper and this area looks as if it will be rectified in the near future. Arsenal could also do with a back up central defender which again looks like this will be addressed before the end of august.

You may at this point be questioning my sanity but lets take a look at the team and see how good this team really is

I will start with the defence, we have lost 3 players in defence for the beginning of the new season but none of these players will really be missed. They have all passed their better days and it is time for new blood.

Enter Koscielny and I have truly been impressed with this player in pre season, he is quick strong and a clever player. He and Vermaelen will form an impressive partnership and one that will score a few goals too. As back up in central defence is only Djourou this will be added to by the end of august

As for full backs we have two of the best in Clichy and Sagna with Eboue and Gibbs backing up. A team playing the style Arsenal do will always concede goals however this total will be reduced this season

The midfield is an area of strength for Arsenal, One player who will excel this year and prove his quality on the world stage is Nasri, he just gets better and better. Diaby also will have a great season he is probably the most under rated player in the arsenal team but during the world cup he showed that he is maturing in the central midfield role.

Song has become a rock for arsenal and will again play a pivotal role within the team. Arshavin is clearly world class and in just one moment of brilliance can change a match. Fabregas is another world class player whose vision and ability combined make him a handful for any team. Walcott has something to prove and will perform to a higher standard this year. Rosicky a player has been plagued with injury but has had a good pre season just imagine if this amazing player can reach his former heights.

I still have not mentioned Ramsey who will be coming back this winter, also the new England international Wilshire who will have a role to play. Denilson who gets a bit of unfair stick he does score some important goals and put in some important performances although he is not consistant.

The strikers at Arsenal is also a strength, Van Persie is an amazing player he just needs to stay fit. Vela the clubs new number 11 is so talented he is sure to realise his potential this year. Chamakh the more I see of him the more I am convinced of his quality, he is great in the air and on the ground. Finally Bendtner can sometimes be a little lazy closing down but has proved he can perform when it is required.

THis team is impressive full of talent, no longer boys but men with a burning desire to achieve. Get behind them because this is Arsenals year!
