NFL Two-A-Days: Houston Texans 2010 Preview

Ryan FryeAug 11, 2010

1.) Can Matt Schaub stay healthy enough to top last season's performance?

Schaub led the NFL in passing yards last season and I can't say enough good things about him. He is one of the NFL's elite quarterbacks on an emerging team.

2.) Who will emerge as the Texans most reliable running back?

Arian Foster and Steve Slaton are the teams most likely guys to "be the man," for lack of a better term. I think these two will be a combo. Neither one has been overly impressive, but as a group (if two is really a group) they should improve. They ranked 30th in rushing yards last season, expect a return to the middle of the pack in this category.

3.) Has Andre Johnson established himself as the NFL's best wide receiver?

I could break this down and analyze this all I want but it's simple, just flip a coin I'll take him or Larry Fitzgerald. They are both the best the NFL has to offer.

4.) Who will pick up the slack for the suspended Brian Cushing?

Cushing is suspended for the first three games of this season (Performance Enhancing Drugs.) Kevin Bentley will start in Cushing's strongside linebacker and has large shoes to fill. The rest of the defense will have to pick up the slack.

5.) Record?

I am not a Texans fan, but I love this team. They have a great young QB and WR. They've got a strong defense with Mario Williams, Brian Cushing and DeMeco Ryans. The big question is can Kareem Jackson fill the void left by Dunta Robinson. If you can be a number one corner in the SEC, you'll probably be good in the NFL. 11-5, second in the AFC South.

This idea originated from ESPN's Mike & Mike. You can check out their opinion on ESPNRadio.com. Tomorrow, I preview the Chiefs and Packers.
