THE MANNY PACQUIAO CONTINUING SAGA

Much has been said about Manny Pacquiao, his continuing struggle inside and outside the ring. Inside the ring he already conquered the admiration of almost all known award giving bodies, which gave him the distinction of being the best pound for pound boxer of our era. His performances in every fight are subject of great articles around the world that maybe if compiled will produced volumes and volumes of books. The videos of his fight are the most sought after and the most popular among boxing fans around the world. His status as one of the greatest fighter of all time is already assured and the one that will push him to the Greatest Of All Time might come in any time if he will conquer his rival to the p4p Floyd Mayweather Jr. The problem is Floyd does not want any part of a Pacquiao fight. But Pacquiao could settle for other fights which could enhance his chance to that most coveted GOAT title, that is, fight the boxer that offers the most prestige in terms of skill, power, speed, and strength. There are but a few boxers today which have all the characteristics mentioned above. The following fighters are mentioned:

1.      Paul Williams – the consummate fighter. Big , strong, fast, powerful and willing to fight Manny at 147 lbs.

2.      Timothy Bradley – Undefeated and has all the makings of a great fighter.

3.      Andre Berto – If successful in his upcoming fight then he should be a serious contender.

4.      Miguel Cotto – At 150 to 154 lbs and for an unprecedented 8^th World Title in eight division, what could you ask for.

5.      Juan Manuel Marquez – Just to silence those who are up to now in doubt who won the last two fights.

6.      Antonio Margarito – His size, work rate, and outstanding brute force is enough to send everyone to canvass.

7.      Shane Mosley – If he can win over Sergio Mora in convincing fashion, then Manny could showcase his talent over Shane and perform better than Floyd.

These boxers are the most eligible opponents for Pacquiao in order to give him the distinction of Boxing greatest of all time, if he becomes successful in defeating them, aside of course, from Floyd.

His upcoming fight with Margarito is one step to greater glory, and his performance will ultimately be the bases. Winning this fight might not assure Manny of the GOAT title but it will give Manny the spring board to reach that height whoever Manny will fight next and if successful, I assure you every one who will call Manny The Greatest Of All Time will not be laughed at.

Outside the ring Manny Pacquiao is almost at the midterm of his continuing quest to learn, to help, to serve, and to attain respect not only as a talented sportsman but as an individual equal in every aspect of social standing. This once boy who failed to finish his studies because of poverty dreamed of one day finishing a degree that will brought forth the necessary tools for alleviating his families consequence, instead found boxing as his main weapon to combat all the hurdles of his material wants. But then his inner consciousness still maintains his ultimate goal, the original one, to get a good education and use it to its maximum advantage.

His election to the House of Representative is one stepping stone to possible greatness outside the ring and at this time he has shown some potential unlike in his previous career which I think never deserve much more than average rating. His singing is non superlative while his acting is never attention binder although his fight scenes are of course very good. Manny lacked the depth to get me believed what is not true.

As a politician Manny is like Noynoy in terms of sincerity and “a breath of fresh air” so to speak. Although he lacks the necessary education of a big political fish, it is not yet to be required since he is just beginning to swim in a small pond and considering his seriousness to get educated and with all the money in the world to support it I don’t think Manny will slack one little bit. Just remember how Manny trained for every fight. His discipline and focus, I think he will continue that attitude on this playing field.

All in all The Manny Pacquiao Story is not yet ending and right now we may yet to see some astounding events inside and outside the ring and the better part of it, is, it will surely not lacking in the action packed, drama, thrill, suspense, and nail biting scenes as we have seen before, in his continuing true to life saga.
