Philadelphia Eagles: Todd Herremans Apologizes for Nothing
Earlier this week, Philadelphia Eagle Todd Herremans tweeted, "So...caught up on Trueblood last nite...Not a fan of how they get u hooked with the 1st 2 seasons then bring on a barrage of homosexuality."
Afterwards Herremans was called into the Eagles' front office and was told to apologise for his comments. He did, releasing a statement, "After speaking with Eagles management, I realize that my tweet earlier was insensitive and tasteless, and for this, I deeply apologize. It was not my intention to offend or hurt anyone."
I have a bit of an issue with the Eagles Brass calling Herremans into their office and basically telling him to apologies.

However, what is really apologising for?
In his tweet he says he's not a fan of the barrage of homosexuality in the current season of Trueblood.
He didn't say he was against homosexuality, and he certainly didn't use any disparaging names for homosexuals.
All he said was he wasn't a fan of the current direction of the show to show homosexuality.
If someone doesn't like watching that sort of thing it doesn't make them a homophobe or even insensitive. I think the Eagles having him release an apology was a bit much. I think a simple, "Watch what you tweet," or "don't do that again," would have been better.
Or, you know, I could be wrong, and maybe this guy's statement was completely homophobic.
After all I'm the type of guy who can not wait to go see The Expendables this weekend and hopes that the latest Julie Roberts touchy-feely crap bombs.
However, I don't think I'm wrong, and I don't believe there was mean spiritedness in Herreman's tweet.
So, I say we all move on, and, hopefully, the front offices of the 32 NFL teams don't worry too much about non-inflammatory tweets.
