20 Things that recently happend in WWE I tought we would never see!
I never did a slide this long before so please tell me how bad/well i done.
I have been a big fan of Pro Wrestling a very long time and along with most of you people reading this slide show I have seen a lot of very suprising thins.
I along with the rest of the IWC have seen some good, Some bad and some real ugly thing's.
But now I have decided to make a slide of 20 thing's that I will never forget seeing.
20 things that recently happend in WWE i tought i wouldnever see!
20. Kevin Federline and John Cena Feuding. Oh Dear!
1 of 21
Kevin Federline made two guest appearences on RAW in October 2006 which led to a feud with then WWE Champion John Cena
At the time Mr Federline former husband of pop sensation Britney Spears was promoting his latest album. "Playing with Fire". The album got as far as number 2 in the US Heat charts.
Kevin Federline allied himself with Cena's enemies Umaga (Eddy Fatu) and Johnny Nitro (Current Ring Name is John Morrison) and the three men beat Cena up which led to Federline challenging Cena to a match next week on RAW.
It was a special 3 hour showing of RAW that was named New Years Day edition of RAW.
Federline vs Cena was the main event of the show and in a way it was nice to see Federline get the winm Even if it was a DQ win but still.
During his time with WWE it was reported by Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Federline was really liked backstage and it was ruoured for some tine that WWE were poised to offer the celeb a contract.
Imagine if he win the Championship during his time on RAW would this have been more shockig and insulting as David Arquetes reign as WCW World Champion?
19. CM Punk Becoming Heel and Leading a Heel Stable
2 of 21
I do not doubt CM Punk's in ring abilities and also his mic skills but cone on when this guy was in the middle of his brilliant feuds as a face against the likes of Batista, Jericho and Randy Orton did you ever think he would turn into such a dominant heel?
As a heel he has had even better feuds against Jeff Hardy, The Undertaker and Rey Mysterio.
CM Punk's heel push all started back at WrestleMania 25 when he brilliantly beat Christian, Kane, MVP, Finlay Mark Henry, Benjamin and Kofi Kingston to win the MITB Ladder Match for the second year in a row.
At Extreme Rules he cashed in his briefcase against Jeff Hardy who had just moments ago competed in a brilliant ladder match against the Ratted-R superstar Edge to once again become World Champion.
Punk's music hit and as soon as i heard it I could of cried. Hardy's title reign had come to end at the hands of the Straight Ede Saviour CM Punk.
Before Punk cash his contract in he was a loved face but he got a cold reception afterwards as Jeff Hardy was a worldwide Fan Favourite.
Soon After winning the gold CM Punk debuted the powerful Luke Gallows.
Punk claimed Gallows was a bum and a serious alcholic before Punk stepped in and "Saved" him and that was the start of the Straight Edge Society.
Luke Gallows is the same man who potrayed the Festus character.
18. Shelton Benjamin Being Released Without Ever Winning a World Title
3 of 21
Shelton Benjamin is a brilliant wrestler who was released from WWE and recently joined ROH to team up with former partner Charlie Haas.
In WWE Haas and Benjamin were knowing as The World Greatest Tag Team and also Team Angle for a period. They won the Tag Titles twice and were PWI Tag Team of the Year back in 2003.
During the 2004 Draft Lottery Benjamin was selected for the RAW brand. Many said he was the best out of the Tag Tea but when he went into single competion that was confirmed.
In singles competion he once beat HHH in a RAW Main Event and on an edition of ECW he beat Current WWE Champ Sheamus.
Benjamin is also a 3 time IC Champion and won the US Championship on one occasion.
Shelton Benjamin is an amazing athlete no doubt about it and there is also no doubt that WWE treated him like dirt.
If guys like Sheamus and Swagger can win a World Championship as easy as they did why could'nt Benjamin?
In MY opion Shelton is better than both of them and is better than a lot of the current WWE talent.
Sadly Benjamin sunk to SmackDown's Lower Mid-Card and the Gold Standard certinally does'nt belong there.
So perhaps its a good thing he is in Ring of Honour at the monent at least his skills will be televisied/
17. Cody Rhodes Turning Into a Cocky Heel
4 of 21
After Legacy split it was obvious all 3 men needed a certain gimmick that could get them away from the whole legacy thing.
Cody was the only one out of the three i was backing to turn face.
Rhodes began a new narcissistic gimmick, claiming to be the best-looking wrestler in WWE and demanding to be called "Dashing" Cody Rhodes.
After being part of the domanating Legacy it was shocking to see Rhodes turn into a character that caresmore about looking well then he cares about winning matches.
Rhodes is highly tipped to succed greatly in the future by many and with his new exciting gimmick his push on Smackdown looks to have already begun.
As part of the 2010 WWE Supplemental Draft, Rhodes was drafted to the Smackdown.
16. A Repeat of The Montreal Screwjob!
5 of 21
The Montreal Scrwjob was one of the most controversial event ever to hit Pro Wrestling.
It occured when Bret Hart was conned out of a match by Vince McMahon after Shawn Micheals applied Bret's famous submission finish The Sharp Shooter on Bret and Vince then orderd the ref to call for the bell and announce Shawn Micheals as the new world Champion
Back at Breaking Point in 2009 Thanks to the scheming CM Punk we witnessed a repeat of that very night.
At Breaking Point Punk defeated The Undertaker in a submission match to retain the World Heavyweight Championship. Undertaker originally won the match with his Hell's Gate submission hold.
SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long re-started the match after stating that the ban that former General Manager Vickie Guerrero had placed on the move was still in effect. Punk would win the match with his Anaconda vise when referee Scott Armstrong called for the bell despite Undertaker never submitting (reminiscent to the Montreal Screwjob, which took place in the same venue in 1997).
The feud between the two continued and at the Hell in a Cell PPV, Punk lost the World Heavyweight Championship to The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match. He lost two subsequent rematches against The Undertaker on Smackdown and in a Fatal Four Way match at Bragging Rights also involving Batista and Rey Mysterio.
15. Matt costs Jeff his Championship at the Royal Rumble
6 of 21
Real life brothers Matt and Jeff Hardy were aqlways a thrill to see in the WWE especially inside the ring but at the Royal Rumble back in 2009 when we seen the brothers in the ring we were disgusted.
Jeff had finally won his first World Championship after spending 15 years with WWE and it was a beautiful and emotional win.
A few weeks befoe the 2009 annual Royal Rumble event Edge challenged Jeff for the tiltle at the event. Jeff accepted.
Edge and Jeff Hardy were having a brilliant match it was very unpredictable after 18 minutes into the match we seen Matt Hardy approach the ring with a steel chair the crowd were all excited as they tought that Matt was coming out to help his brother Jeff defend his gold.
It later transpired that Matt came out to cost Jeff the title much to the suprize of the WWE Universe.
After the event Matt continued his attacks on Jeff and even challenged Jeff to an extreme rules match at WM 25. Jeff did not accept the challenge and did not respond to his brothers attacks.
After it was revealed that Matt burnt down Jeff's house the extrene enigna Jeff Hardy lost his temper and patience with his jealous brother Matt and beat him to a bloody pulp after he beat him up bad he responded to Matt's earlier challenge to a match at WM 25.
Jeff had finally decided to face his brother 1-on-1 in an extreme rules match at WM.
Matt went on to win the match in the end.
14. Ted DiBiase Jr Bringing back his Fathers Gimmick
7 of 21
After Legacy split it was obvious all 3 men needed a certain gimmick that could get them away from the whole legacy thing.
As I mentioned Cody turned into a Cocky Vain heel and Orton pretty much stayed the same but in the process he runed face.
I did not expect Ted to bring back the Gimmick that brought so much success to JBL and Ted DiBiase.
Ted also brought back his fathers body guard Virgil but in my opinion this was a very bad move as he just looked like a younger persona of his father in the 90's.
He soon ditched Virgil however and started a gold digging storyline with the beautiful former divas and women champion Maryes
I think now that he is accompanied by Maryes instead of Virgil this gives him platforms for more storylines and air time.
This gave Teddy Jr something different that his father did not have and WWE need to do more things like this so they do not copy the other rich-men gimmicks.
13. Sex segement gives RAW biggest rating in 2006
8 of 21
After Edge defeated John Cena to win the WWE Championship on January 8 at New Year's Revolution, he announced that he and Lita were going to celebrate by having sex in the middle of the ring the next night on Raw.
During the segment, Lita and Edge stripped to their underwear before retreating beneath the covers of a bed that had been erected in the ring.
The event was interrupted by Ric Flair, leading to Edge leaving the bed to fight him.
Lita, left alone, hastily got dressed again as Cena entered the ring and attacked her, delivering an FU to her.
Lita's bare breast was momentarily shown during the segment. This "Live Sex Celebration" segment earned Raw a 5.2 rating, its highest ratings in over a year.
On the February 6 episode of Raw, Lita teamed with Edge in a loss to Cena and Maria.
She continued to manage Edge into mid-2006, frequently interfering on his behalf during his feud with Mick Foley.
Lita announced her retirement from Professianal Wrestling in the middle of 2007 after the fans turning on her due to the way she treated fan favourite Matt Hardy in real life events.
12. Pro Wrestling and Reality TV becoming One. AGAIN
9 of 21
Okay so yeah a few years ago there was a reality Wrestling show called "Tough Enough" which brought wrestlers like The Miz, John Morrison, Skip Sheffield and Current TNA star Matt Morgan.
But to be honest the show sucked it had barely any viewers and it was on MTV.
Why on earth was a Pro Wrestling show on a music channel?
The show stopped being aired in 2004. From 2004 till Earlier this year there was nothing like NXT or Tough Enough on National Television and I was genuinly happy but Earlier this year WWE brought a reality show where wrestlers compete for contracts.
The show was called NXT and I was so suprised WWE brought back the concept.
When I heard ECW was officially shutting down and NXT was oppening up i was shocked.
I tought WWE were going to ruin this i tought they would make the 8 wrestlers live with eachother or some thing like that but they didnt and im glad they didnt it would of being pure stupid.
NXT has brought us talents like Daniel Bryan, Kaval, Justin Gabriel and the winner of NXT Season 1 Englishmen Wade Barrett.
Like Tough Enough there was a show for Diva's to get into the WWE called WWE Diva Search it aired on RAW and it was more of segment than an actualt show.
11. Orton being a Successive Face!
10 of 21
After giving Stephanie McMahon an RKO and Spitting in WWE Legends faces did any one honestly ever think Orton would be giving a face run?
Did anyone ever think Orton would pull it off as well as he is?
Randy Orton carries the same antics he did as a heel except after his Lgacy team mates betrayed him the WWE Universe started to cheer for the viper.
After beating Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase in a Triple Treat Match at WM Orton face run staus was confirmed.
Unlike John Cena, Big Show and Rey Mysterio, Orton does not grab a mic and start hyping himself up or give the fans some pathetic jokes.0
He just hurts people, Carries out random attacks and does what he can to achieve success in the WWE.
When the Legacy stable disband it was obvious that either Ted or Chody had to turn face to distance them self fro the Legacy gimmick.
But no one imagened Randy Orton turning face and no one tought he would pull it off as well as he is.
10. WWE going PG
11 of 21
A Pro Wrestling show going PG is something I tought we would never see. But WWE going PG?
If ya told me this 10 years ago i would of laughed, put on Monday Night RAW and watch Stone Cold say every swear word there is.
When I heard WWE was TV-14 I was schocked, amazed and very confused.
But then when the news reached me that WWE was PG I sniggered and tought ya they are going to break that in a matter of weeks.
But no I was wrong they backed it up by stopping chair shots to the skull and making sure no one bleeds.
Bryan Danielson was the biggest loser in WWE going PG.
This is guy is one of the best technical wrestlers ever but after he spat on Vince's top star Cena and choked some dude that no one even knows with his own tie.
That was the end of the road WWE had gone too far with al this PG bull.
9. Kane re-gaining a World Title After 12 years without one.
12 of 21
12 years ago in a First Blood match at King Of The Ring against Stone Cold Steve Austin,Kane won his first world title.
He lost it the following night in a one-on-one match against the same opponent the Rattle Snake Stone Cold Steve Austin.
But recently at WWE's newest PPV " Money in the Bank" Kane earned a contract to cash-in as he succesfully beat seven other men to climb a ladder and lift off that expensive briefcase with a title opportunity for any place at any time.
This was a brilliant moment in WWE history as no one expected Kane to ever win another title in the WWE let alone a World Title.
He will now defend his title against the man he won it off for the second time Rey Mysterio.
8. Orton reversing Air Bourne into a RKO !!
13 of 21
It was the best reversal probably in Pro Wrestling history!
Randy Orton and Edge has a hard foght match on monday night RAW and near the end of the match Chris Jericho came out and distracted Orton so Edge could pick up a victory to gain momentum leading in to the MITB ladder match.
Orton gave Jericho an RKO and then just after that Bourne ran down the ramp and then rapidly ran into the ring and gave an Orton a flying kick into the face.
Bourne then quickly jumped onto the top rope the crowd had mixed feelings as some were not happy to see Orton down and out but others were excited to see another amazing SSP.
Bourne brilliantly launched himself off the top rop but the Viper Orton got to his feet as fast as lighting and as Bourne was in mid-air Orton caught him by his nek and agressivley RKO-ed him in the blink of an eye.
Bourne sold it brilliantly and you could see by Orton's face it had an effect on the already injured shoulder of Orton.
I was sitting on the edge off my seat it was an awesome moment on Monday Night RAW.
7. Seeing Jeff Hardy finally win a World Title
14 of 21
Jeff Hardy was one of the best high-flying wrestlers to ever step foot inside a WWE ring and some argue he was not treated fairly by WWE management.
Jeff fueded with HHH and Edge also eventually CM Punk before he was able to finally win his 1st world title. (for long than 2 minutes that sucked)
Heading into the Royal Rumble Jeff was champion but at the event he faced the biggest shocker in his life.
His older brother Matt came out and bashed him into the head to betray and cost him his championship.
The two later went on to have an extreme rules match at wrestlemania that Matt one after that they had a series of match and the extreme enigma won the majority of them.
Jeff is now in TNA Wrestling and asked recently about a return to WWE he answered never say never.
So perhaps we will see Jeff return and get some revenge on CM Punk and also re-capture the title.
6. Sheamus beating John Cena in a Tables Match for the WWE Championship.
15 of 21
Wether you love the Celtic Warrior Sheamus or hate him you have to admit you loved seeing him beat John Cena in his first ever PPV appearence during his first ever title match.
Sheamus won a "break-through" battle royal for wrestlers who had never won a world championship, to become the number one contender to John Cena's WWE Championship.
At the contract signing immediately afterwards, Sheamus put Cena through the table as the Raw guest host Jesse Ventura announced it would be a Tables match.
At the first ever TLC PPV the Cena and Sheamus match lasted 16 minutes and 20 seconds.
It was a back and fourth match. On the top rope Cena and Sheamus were brawling when out of nowhere Sheamus pushed Cena through a Table outside the arena.
Sheamus had won the WWE title for the first time against the WWE poster boy John Cena it was a shocking moment.
5. Nexus DESTROY WWE!!
16 of 21
Ever since Evoultion split on Monday Night Raw the "A-Brand" has lacked a top stable.
One night on Monday Night Raw the maint event was CM Punk vs John Cena when out of nowhere Wade Barrett started strolling down the ramp he was staring into they eyes off John Cena and that was the birth of something special!
After Wade strolled down the ramp the other 7 members of NXT Season 1 jumed out of the crowd and beat the living day lights out of Cena and The SES.
After that they thore aprt the arena they even beat up Micheal Cole and Jerry Lawler along with every one else who got in thier way include most superstars on the RAW roster.
4. The Shawn Micheals and Undertaker matches surpassing expectations
17 of 21
Okok this was a hard slide for me to do because I seen both of thier matches and they were both unbelievable.
I am not insulting thier matches or anything. Just hear me out and maybe you will agree.
Do you guys remember the Edge and Jericho feud?
Build-up was awesome it had a real story to it. The mic skills were brilliant but yet when it came to thier matches they did not live up to expectations.
At WM thier match was a 5/10 at best and thier steel cage match was a disaster I tought it might be the same way for Taker and Shawn.
Shawn Micheals and The Undertake are two of the best Pro Wrestlers ever to step foot in a WWE ring and during the build up of thier first match (WM25) i dont know if you noticed but WWE were Showing videos of Shawn back in the '90'swhen he was in his prime.
As for Taker they were doing somethings similar by showing all the previous 16 wrestlers he went up against at WM.
I tought the match would be slow paced. Boring at times and dominated by Taker. I also tought the moves they would do would be very limited.
Oh boy was I wrong it was a fast paced, back and forth epic battle some of the moves that these two pulled off were phenomenal.
Shawn Micheals vs Undertaker at WM25 was the best match I ever seen and I can say that with full confidence.
3. WWE Letting Ric Flair Have Such A Brilliant Farewell to his Career
18 of 21
Ric Flair the WWE Legend went up against Shawn Micheals at WM24 with his career on the line.
They Had a memroable match witch Shawn won following a Sweet Chin Music and due to that one kick it ment Flair had to retire.
The next night on RAW Flair came out Thanked the WWE Universe but thats not what made this farewell so special.
It was the fact that WWE let thier athletes break character for one edition of Monday Night RAW and had them say good bye to the nature boy.
After the matches we seen from Jericho and Flair did you ever think WWE would let Jericho break his infamour heel character to come out and say good bye to his nemesis.
What made it all so special and memorable was for once we see the Undertake do something that reminds us he is too a human being. He came out look the rest of the wrestlers, shook Flair's hand and even gave him a Hug.
2. Seeing Eddie and Chris both World Champs at WM for the first time.
19 of 21
I know that Chris had been WCW Champion and ever since WCW's demise and given the fact that David Arquette was handed the title, didnt that take all prestige and hounour out of the great Championship?
It was WM 20 and Benoit had just defeated HHH and HBK in one of the best Wrestle Mania matches ever.
HHH was the champion going into the match but after long battle with HBK and Benoit. HHH finnally gave in and tapped out to the Crippler Crossface to give Chris Benoit his first World Championship.
The legendary Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero elevated himself to main event status and began feuding with the WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. At No Way Out, Guerrero defeated Lesnar in the main event to win the WWE Championship.
His next feud was with Kurt Angle, whom he defeated at WrestleMania XX to retain his title in his first big defense.
At the end of this event, Guerrero celebrated in the ring with longtime friend Chris Benoit.
For the first time in thier careers long time friends Eddie and Chris were both World Champions.
And this to me was a brilliant moment for these two WWE legends.
RIP Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit
1. A Shawn Micheals and Bret Hart Handshake
20 of 21
After all the controversey surrounding the Montreal Screwjob and the 13 years of complete BITTERNESS.
A secret change of the match's pre-determined finish was devised by McMahon and discussed with Hart's match opponent, Shawn Michaels.
The plan was executed when the match referee, Earl Hebner, under orders from McMahon, called for the bell to ring and ended the match as Michaels held Hart in the Sharpshooter submission hold (Hart's signature finishing move), even though Hart had not submitted.
Michaels was declared the victor by submission and crowned as the new WWF Champion.
The montreal sccrewjob angered all Pro Wrestling fans world wide as it made little of Bret Harts brilliant career and it made Shawn Micheals look weak.
And after 13 years of pure hate and anger we finally see these two WWE legends bury the hatchet.
Bret was indcuted into the WWE prestigous Hall Of Fame.
Toughts!
